Hi. My new one just arrived in Auckland NZ. Get it in a few weeks. Is there a gas bayonet where you can hook a external BBQ to?

Nice van with the dual set up. These vans can take the corrugations at 80 mph, it so smoothes the ride and preserves the van.

What sort of fuel economy do you get with the Colorado when your towing?
@OutdoorsCBR
Жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure with the 17ft van. When we towed our 15ft van around NSW it was about 17L per 100 and it did it no problem. But the Colly has had a lot mods done since then - additional bar work and 33inch tyres. it struggled to tow the 17ft van. Fuel might have gone up a litre or two, maybe 17-19. But power became the issue. We have a Y62 now.

Hey Budd. We have the 15.48-6. Same purchase as you guys originally did. We realise the toilet shower is a pain in the butt setting up outside. With the new prices... we are looking at a 25k upgrade to sell ours and upgrade tot he 17.58-3 with the toilet shower. We noticed you have done this... is it really worth it.. as we are struggling with little kids and showering/toileting outside.... Is it really a game changer having the toilet shower inside?? really appreciate your honest feedback. Cheers.
@OutdoorsCBR

Hey mate, the toilet is the best at night and in the mornings!!! Definitely a game changer. The shower is awesome when you are off grid. But you do have to be mindful of how much water you have. Rarely can you afford to have a normal shower where you turn the water on and let it run while you wash. We just returned from 3 months on the road, if we needed to preserve water, we would shower inside but fill a bucket and use a cloth. Or we would quickly get wet, turn water off, lather up the soap and then turn water back on to rinse off. Whether it's worth $25k. It is if you use it LOTS! Not if you only use the van a few times a year.

Hey, great video. Thanks heaps. One question… where is the emergency breakaway system and battery located? Cheers.
@OutdoorsCBR
8 ай бұрын
Batteries are under the bottom bunk. Break away system 'trigger' is on the draw bar, have to connect a cable to the tow bar when hitching up. Not sure what else makes up the break away system, but I assume it's under the van.
@trevhead62Gmail
8 ай бұрын
@@OutdoorsCBR thanks. I’ll have a closer look under there. I couldn’t see anything other than the main battery and the electrical management module. The breakaway system normally has its own dedicated 12v… maybe the Jayco uses the main house battery… I shall investigate further. Cheers.

Theres a dedicated 12v feed in the draw bar plug that fires up the sway control unit. Not sure where power is coming from for the break away system.
