Speed limiter on a super bike. There's something fundamentally wrong with that. Just saying...

Do you have a link to the better DNA? filter? Or was that the K&N filter that is recommended?

Just curious, but why do you not flash the ECU yourself Dale? Have been doing this on some of my bikes since Woolich was working with ECU-editor. Is it because of the cost? A bit inconvenient to send the ECU back and forth to CM (or any tuner with relevant hw/sw). On my current Z H2 I also use PC to fine-tune after removing (reflashing) the restrictions in th ECU.

Mainly because for years I've been testing and developing my own tuner with Dobeck TL., I've found in most cases timing doesn't do much with most models. I get just as much or more out of motors by removing the secondary's, with my air box mods , added air flow, and I pre set each tuner for my customer. There is ten ways to make power with smooth running, and its only as good as the guy doing it and putting in the time. In this case the speed limiter really bothered me, so I teamed up with Chris on this one. I also need to slow down a bit after my cancer battle, and I'm look forward to retirement, having fun with my bikes and making fun videos. The other big reason is the off road closed course use only is getting to be a thin line now. Cheers D

@@DaleWalkerHoleshot Yes, agree with you there. In my case I just like to "fiddle" with this "nerdy" stuff. On these modern ECU's the flashing process takes quite some time to finish, which I find strange. It is not that much byte's that must be "written". Reminds me on old 1200baud modems vs todays 1Gb transfers. Room for improvements here. Even factory updates (BMW) can take hours and the bike must be connected to the factory over WAN! So much more convenient to use a "piggy-back" you can adjust on the fly. On the Z H2 the timing has to be advanced on top to make any serious power, but that is not without risks. :) This ECU flashing have become a "necessity" as most if not all manufacturers puts so much restrictions in the ECU's. Yamaha is one of the worst together with Triumph on certain models (MT-09, Speed Triple 1200). :(

@@TL1000S97 Yep they are getting smarter smarter to try to block us ... LOL ! Trust me even with my Tuner piggy back set up I spend 3 days on the dyno and road test, then back again a few times. The dyno is not the holy grail and fully real world power delivery. I was at the race track the last 3 days, and have not been back here yet on the MT-09 but we may need to take little back out of it in 1st and 2nd gear. Cheers DW

I'm curious to see how the dyno graph compares to a 1st or 2nd gen mt09 .

No can do, this is the first MT-09 I've owned or on the dyno HD. The 21 is stronger with its longer stroke and extra 50ccs. DW

Chris is a good guy and does a great job at what he does. This will take a couple trips back and fourth to get my own tune for my air box mods with DNA filter dialed in I'm sure. I normally would remove the butterflies, make my own tuner and do my deal, but the only way to get rid of the speed limiter was to flash it. Cheers Dale
