I have a 2004 3.2S 6 speed manual with 29k miles. I upgraded the IMS bearing with an EPS replacement so I can drive it without worry. In most conditions it still has all the performance you need, particularly on the highway. The simplicity of it is the attraction more than all out speed.

I traded in a 2005 3.2S with 140,000 miles, which I put on. Got a 981 Spyder with 10,000 miles. Values have gone up in the 6 months I’ve owned this beauty, draws comments every time I park.

I have seen this comparison in the comments on a number car videos on YTube, people asking about the MX-5 and how it compares to the Cayman/Boxster. I’m always a bit perplexed why they are even compared to each other, perhaps because some people want to believe or hope they can get the “Porsche experience” in a much cheaper car? - I own a 2019 Cayman and a 2021 MX-5 RF Club and they are very different cars and each gives their own different experience. You can’t compare them because they’re not the same and while I enjoy both of them, part of the reason is because they are dissimilar to each other.
@rembo183
3 жыл бұрын
@@blueberrycobbler - I’ve owned a Porsche and the MX-5 In both soft top and the PRHT. Comparisons are ok because they are roadsters and the Cayman is basically a Hard top Boxster. Yes one is a luxury car v.a budget one so the level of refinement or quality is different. However as you know, the Miata is a great sports car with superb engineering and design. The Porsche is considered a luxury version. I love both the Cayman and the Miata and I could see having both as well. If you’re on a budget the Miata provides just as much fun as either the Boxster or Cayman IMO.

Boxsters are technically roadsters, not cabriolets. A Cabriolet is technically a four seater convertible, ie. 911 Cabriolet. Nice review nonetheless.
@stevehammes

Funny how Porsche refers to it as a cabriolet on their retail site, isn’t it?
@davidrivera2165
3 жыл бұрын
Cabriolet has come to mean the generic equivalent of the word convertible for the uninitiated. Porsche knows the difference. They named their more touring focus convertible, the 911 cabriolet (meaning four seat convertible). Just google difference between Roadster vs. cabriolet, and you will get the more technical answer. All Cabriolets and Roadsters are convertibles, but they're not equivalent to each other.The difference is the number of seats, and the intended focus of the vehicle as in sports car or more usable daily tourer. Steve, I started driving in 1971, when British and Italian roadsters were in vogue, but what americans bought was the convertible Corvette. And IT, was a roadster, not cabriolet.
