no issue changing bars it's all straight forward the switches have pins that fit in holes in the factory bars you're best off filing them off that way you don't have to drill a hole in your new bars, you can move the switches where you want they still clamp tight enough that they won't move around in use. other than that just keep the clamps around the right way and make sure they have no sharp edges that would score the bars and cause a potential failure point.

the new muffler insert does quieten it down a bit, the stock bars have holes drilled in them which take a locating pin on the switch blocks so you need to drill holes in the new bars or grind off the locating pins i haven’t decided which way to go yet

when i tried the insert i noticed the bike idled a tad rough. not sure i it was due to a new motor or if it may require a carby adjustment

I got this last year, had to fit it all myself, you will have to buy a new throttle tube as the original is glued on and you can't get off, easier just to get after market one about $20, I use mine as an adventure bike , love it, just change sprockets from stock 14/47 to 15/44 still low enough for the bush and then can easily cruise at 100 km/ h, just have change case saver for aftermarket to fit 15 t sprocket
@ridewithwarro
3 жыл бұрын
thanks. to do your sprocket chages what was the cost roughly of both sprockets and did you also have to buy a new chain too what about those radiator guards-do i have to remove the tank to fit or just pull the yellow platic covers
@gregbristowe3057
3 жыл бұрын
@@ridewithwarro Hi warro, I think the sprockets was less than $100, radiator guards just remove plastic fairings only not tank, best place for parts is either ' adventure bike australia" or "mx store" check prices at both see who's cheaper,

@@ridewithwarro with the bash plate fit the bracket to the plate first, then when you install it that bracket just slips over the frame and there's just the one front bolt that holds it on, so when you want take it off in the future it's only the one front bolt you have to undo

That is a great deal and the accessories that you received look great. I hope they function as well as they look. It appears that mounting instructions for some of the accessories are a little skimpy, though.
@ridewithwarro

i think what they give you is pretty good quality stuff and no complaints my side. they do lack instructions a bit...lol i think it should look pretty smart with them on plus i plan to add a few extras myself to jazz it up a bit. i like the bike and more importantly it has good power and can easily pull hills. after a while you get a bit tired of crawling over a sealed road hill and you need a bit of power to get you to your destination. i think with 40 hp on tap i can now easily cruise at 60 mph and get over any hill on the way

That’s a nice bunch of accessories your scored there warro , I’m surprised how loud the drz is . I put a set of Renthal bars on a dr650 and didn’t encounter to many issues but have heard stories of people struggling to change grips on the throttle side Cheers Paul
