Nice pics there. I have had some trail cams set up at the back of my place in Fruitvale BC. Have many pics of deer and moose. Recently put one at our garden as the deer were eating it pretty good and the other at the top of our driveway. Even have shots there in. Mid morning of some big bears and also mothers with cubs, just when I am in the house having my mid morning coffee. There is more animal activity in BC. than most people think, especially city folks.

You know at night when that light goes on and there's another animal following a deer or some other helpless animal when that light turns on it shows them exactly where those animals are and animals that are violent and want to eat it gives them a heads up and animals get killed before their time just because of that light, I think they should outlaw these cameras just so we can see what they're doing because we think we're going to find something out there that hasn't been discovered regardless of the consequences to the animals that don't know what the heck is going on and soon as that light goes on another animal looks in that direction and sees that other help with animal and goes and kills it so you're setting other animals up to be killed, just a thought.
@onelegwest

Interesting perspective. Consider the following…. Animals can only see the little grey dot on the trail camera where we humans can see a little red dot when the IR flash comes on. Animals cannot see the IR light shining on objects/animals. 2nd…. Even if animals could see the IR light illuminate other animals, then the light would allow the deer to see a predator when it, too, walks in front of the camera therefore warning the deer that a predator is near so your argument is cancelled out because it works both ways.

The absolute dumbest comment I've ever seen. Those predator animals know the prey animals are there with or without the light. You must be a PETA member. Hunt yummy animals and have a feast!!!😋

Preditory animals do a lot of hunting at night and depending on the moon phase there is plenty of light for even humans to see at night.
@illbetherejk3212
Жыл бұрын
John, you clearly aren't educated on the topic. First of all, those lights are infrared. They are invisible to animals. Only the camera can see the lights. Research IR lighting. Even the military uses it to go undetected. Second of all, those "helpless animals" will be eaten by a predator whether or not there is a trail camera. It's what predators do. Thirdly, a predator is only going to kill and eat when it is hungry. A predator doesn't just kill any animal whenever it sees it, or whenever there's a light source. It's killing is dictated by its stomach. If a cougar or a wolf was following a deers scent and was close enough that a flash of light did illuminate the deer, that deer was going to die anyway.
