I'm a hardcore auto enthusiast and what I notice was a technology error on the window sticker for Tiguan SEL Premiums. It may be fixed on the 2020 and 2021 models. If you look at your window sticker, go down to lighting and you'll notice the list states adaptive headlights and low speed cornering lights in the fog lamps. This information is incorrect. If you have a SEL Premium or SEL Premium R Line the cornering lights are in the light housing not the fog lamps, this makes the light housing more of matrix design then VW previously stated. VW does makes low speed corning lamps in the fog lamps for TIguans but it's the SE and SEL none premium models. They have a different light housing that doesn't support cornering lights. Test it out turn you wheel to the right or left at night and get out, look and you'll see with the premium lighting, everything functions in the light housing. When you read the definition of matrix headlights these lamps do the exact same thing as VW Group trim levels with matrix lighting. In my opinion the 2018 and 2019 Tiguan offer more options than current 2021 models. The 2021 comes with the new VW cockpit and frameless mirror with compass. But the 2018 and some of the early 2019 models with the old VW cockpit ONLY; comes with proxy button trunk closures and ambient lighting in the panoramic sunroof. I finally got mines turned on, it took a long time because VW just see the VIN and say if you have a 2019 VW Tiguan Premium or Premium R Line with the old cockpit and no frameless mirror (had a frameless mirror with compass install for less than $250 bucks), you don't show a recall. But the lights are installed just look on these models, open your roof to see them, a white lighting tube on both sides. You'll see they are up there just disconnected due to the recall at the time. 2019 Tiguan SEL Premium or Premium R Line models with new VW virtual cockpit, frameless mirror with compass will not have the trunk proxy button nor will it have ambient lighting in panoramic roof, it's been removed.

I had a 2021 Tiguan SEL 4motion... I have owned VWs for most of my life. Aside from it being woefully under powered this is wonderful vehicle. This vehicle should never have been produced with a 2 L turbo that only produced 184 horsepower. Both the SEL and the R line should’ve been offered with the V6 that the atlas has in it. (Especially 4motion models) Either that or some version similar to the 2 L that is offered in the GTI. So disappointing that after several months of ownership I traded it in on a 2021 Jetta GLI Autobahn.

In Europe, we get a tiguan and a tiguan all space, the latter of which has 7 seats and is longer than the standard tiguan which is only 5 seater.

@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville it’s the only 7 seater SUV vw sell here, the Touareg is a 5 seater. It’s cramped alright but there still really popular on the road, along with its SEAT and skoda counterparts. The regular tiguan dosent look as good as the all space IMO. If you want bigger you’d need an xc90 or the like.
