Researching on the gas mileage of a vehicle is the easiest part before buying!!! Looks like you dint do any research before buying this vehicle and then put the blame on the vehicle!!! I paid for the Ex with leather and Navi. The Nav after multiple updates would project my location to the side of the highway on the screen as though the car was floating around the screen. I performed several map updates and never got a resolution. The finish dye was coming off the passenger front seat which had less wear than the driver seat. That was my fifth Honda. Over the years I’ve had seven VW and all have been good to me so long as I stay on too if maintenance. The pilot carpet was also awful, you couldn’t vacuum grass and dirt out easily and it would retain debris even after a full detail. In short the Honda did not impress

Well, I just got the new 22 Atlas V6 SE with technology package and towing . While I Iove the car, the gas efficient is really bad, 18.3 MPG, exactly what was mentioned in this video. I traded in my GMC 2019 V6 Arcadia SLT, I was getting 23.6 MPG, it is a huge difference. We always keep a SUV V6 in the house, this one is by far the less efficient. I love the driving, the ride, super quiet and smooth, and more........ and BUT the efficient should be better, I think 18 MPG in 2022 is really bad performance compare with same size V6 cars, I had Lincoln, Mazda, GMC...all of them V6, this one is way bellow them. Obviously the time could not be worse to get this car, oh boy, going to refuel and so often, it is a pain in the neck...I don't think that we will trade it, I think we will get used to it, but If the gas reaches 6 or 7......probably I will change my mind Lol. Well if you’re looking for gas mileage then an suv with a 6 cylinder would be out of the question. We recently upgraded from a Chevy equinox, that had great fuel mileage ( 41mpg best on highway). But it had a 1.4 L turbo. It was selected awd which was nice but as far as towing it had like a 1000lbs. But you can’t even compare the two next to each other. So you need to decide what you want, a fuel efficient vehicle or something with the roominess, towing capacity, and the other options available of the atlas. We agree that the fuel mileage is less but overall we love it. We own a 2021 atlas cross-sport R- Line edition $ 58,000 sticker price. This vehicle has everything and we couldn’t be happier. I own and operate a 2021 Cross Sport SEL Premium and manage 19-21 mpg in the city by using the manual shift to keep the rpm's under 2,000. Many time on level ground I start up in second gear and quickly shift to 3, 4, 5 & 6th gear. You can watch the mileage from last start soar to 18>19>20+. It also takes a light accelerator foot at stop lights and docile driving style. The car does a very low gear ratio in first, second and third which helps with towing but you can minimize those low gears with manual shifting when driving in town. Paddle shifters would be much more convenient but VW doesn't want get too sporty. Hope this helps someone........

My wife is currently on her way home from a trip to Kentucky. She's sending me messages and video of snow and ice on the road as well as the TPMS telling her she has a tire inflation issue. But...it doesn't say which tire. We assume it is weather related considering she doesn't feel any pull or tilt. Aside from that, our R Line, just like yours, has been a really neat ride. The problems we have had, especially when she was driving home with our toddler granddaughter, is that the "Infotainment" went berserk and turned the radio volume all the way to Peak Power, on its own, and it could not be turned down or even turned off. When my wife pulled into the driveway, I thought she was just jamming out to a favorite tune. Nope! She had to endure head thumping noise for about 20 miles. That thing has a mind of its own. It craps out completely, requiring a "soft-boot" reactivation, or it has had to go in for a manual, out-of-the-dash full reconfiguring of the system. I think she has done about 4 "soft-boots" on her own. We are getting rid of ours this coming week as well. We've had it just under a year and have only put about 8,000 miles on it. Other than the issues addressed, it is a very sweet machine. I will admit to that. It has plenty of pep in its step and is really fun to drive. Well, other than the ultra-high lipped front seats. I have a 2019 Golf Alltrack (6 speed manual, 4-Motion) which I love to death. The Atlas honestly smells too strongly of "vehicle designed specifically for Americans", which to me, as a long time VW fan, triggers warning bells. No offense to anyone who loves the American market Passat, but market specific vehicles like those tend to lag behind VW's global vehicles in features, quality, interior materials, and lots of the little touches they're known for. They also get refreshed a lot slower and get full updates rarely (if ever). I agree, it's not a bad car, but their global vehicles have tech that this Cross Sport is lacking and if you compare it to the new upcoming 2022 GTI, you really start to notice the wide gap between them. One of the glaring things I noticed were the rear seat fold down handles that are on my Alltrack, but weirdly missing on the much larger Atlas (located on the sides near the hatch opening and let the seats fold down without having to walk up to the rear doors). Just one example of a small thing that makes a difference but they omitted, likely due to cost cutting. Again, not saying its a bad vehicle, just that VW dilutes their brand reputation by delving into market specific vehicles like this while withholding popular global vehicles from us.

I had mine for four months and had nothing but issues with it. They ended up doing lemon law on it and buying it back. Horrible experience sadly. Such a good looking and smooth car…. But I had engine issues galore.

Did you not read the window sticker with the suggested gas mileage?

About 1 month after getting the vehicle our daily commute went from 10 miles per day to over 50. After a few months and after seeing how hot the used car market was we took the opportunity to get out of it without barely losing a penny.

Appreciate the review! I will say the mpg is well documented as not being the best. Seems like a silly buy for 20+ mile commuters. What are you getting as a replacement?

Significant other recently had a career change that Increased daily commute from 10 miles to 50 miles! Car was wonderful but definitely needed to make a change. I plan on showing the new vehicle in a few weeks (hopefully) when it arrives from manufacturer!

To save others time, the reason why he’s getting rid of it is 90% the fuel mileage and some interior quality. It’s at 10:10 mark.

To his credit … Gas prices have been rising in 2022. In the Midwest gas is $4.87 per gallon & they predict it will rise further to $5.00 or $6.00 (but hoping this will not be the case!)

This was my significant others vehicle not mine. A career change meant she went from 10 miles a day driving to just over 50. Spending $8 a day on gas was terrible.

Just get a Touareg TDi. You can have all the economy, PLUS better driving dynamics, better interior quality, and better tow ability.

4 months and the car is trashed. Nice job. I have 2 kids less than 6 years old and my main SUV is in pristine condition compared to yours after almost a year of daily commute to and from daycare. Also, what did you expect MPG wise from a huge SUV? 🤔
@amentauto3610
3 жыл бұрын
I think trashed is a little harsh. Anyway our commute suddenly changed from 10 miles per day to 50 miles per day. Was literally sucking about 8$ per day to drive.

I stopped to check out your review because I favor this model. I will admit that when I heard you commenting on the amount of gas this puppy consumes I was kinda surprised. Normally I'm always thinking travel and gas, only because I've own Explorers, the Expedition and the F150s, all 8 cylinders, you would think I work for Ford lol..gas prices in Jersey have actually increased significantly since this vid. Research your alternatives, and when ur done research some more. 6 cyl and 8 cylinders are pretty big engines. I would drive a large deasiel if I could, but I can't justify the fuel. I do love the larger trucks though. My perspective is 21st century autos are beautiful but not all are practical. Especially with today's auto market charging up cost on new and used cars and trucks.....hope you made out better 👍

Yeah, why make this vid? No issues, but stuff you knew when you purchased? 18mpg in v6 heavy SUV isn’t awful. I’m confused, you knew it was AWD, right? Good luck, whiny review for no reason…

If you are upset about the fuel mileage, why did you buy it? They tell you exactly what the gas mileage is before you purchased it. It is listed on the sticker. It's way better than an American V8 SUV with their 13 mpg. For me, 20 mpg is that sweet spot. Any less, and it bothers me, more and I love it. My Infiniti G35 got around 19 City and 22 highway. I did love that car, but it is time, and I need comfort and cargo space. It was hard not to get a Tacoma/Tundra, but I liked the way this looked.

Watch the entire video of you talking up the vehicle, minus a few things, sounds like you really do like it. I think buying the sport version of this with the big engine, without a third row, was a mistake. People who need that third row put up with the mileage. You could find yourself in the Tiguan and possibly love it as well

I had a 2019 Atlas SEL from a Q5 and loved it for three months was beautiful looking but sooooo cheap and had so many problems biggest one was torque converter needed to b replaced lol Dealer bought care back and I got a 2018 q7 tech night and day and I remember why I always go with Audi witch still has there issues but the drive and quality way better

We have the 4cyl turbo has a more features in inside but roughly the same we got it because it only had 2ft/lbs of less torque was not a bad trade off to get 450 miles of range on sport mode

Outside looks nice, but the interior is so outdated. It would be nice if they went more Audi like. As for the non LED inside or even for the license plate, I find that ridiculous for the cost.
