I'd argue that glass morphism started with Windows Vista ;p

It's funny how apple drives some of the web design trends when safari is by far the worst and buggiest major browser, and took until recently to support the god damn date field... I think the glass stuff looks nice if pulled off right, and it's very very very popular right now. The editorial look is STUNNING, but looks really hard to pull off well. As for autoplay video / audio... NO. EVERYONE HATES THIS. videos waste LOADS of data, destroy your pc or phone, and lag the website. The audio is super intrusive and annoying. People use their laptops and phones quietly not realizing they have their volume on, or listening to their own music or podcast, nobody wants to be forced to listen to your audio on page load. Every single human being I've ever met will close the tab within two seconds if you auto play audio.

luckily, that's a subjective perspective. personally, i'd rather have a site that works as opposed to one that flashes unnecessary "trends" in my face, which often aren't even well translated to mobile - despite their best efforts/intentions.

Don't forget about the glass effect on Windows Vista! They called it Aero and it was first seen as part of the Windows Vista beta in 2005-a replacement for the aging Luna theme from Windows XP. (2:18)

Love the geometric grids that we're seeing more and more! On websites that have lots of content crammed together, it can be a great way of separating things if not overdone and if colors are used correctly.

I think no sound on websites is missing an important part of user experience. I would like to see more websites that have an audio track that adds value to what you are seeing with your eyes. It could be music but moreso for me a narrative voice that tells the user what's going on.
