Keep Le cruset. Very expensive to replace and quite frankly if it brings you joy, keep it! I have a few fancy bowls I use once or twice a year, but I love them so they stay. Don't let guilt of perceived excess let you get rid of something you love. If you have too much, you know. And you know in your heart you don't have too much excess.

Plus, I go with 'if I love it, I gotta find more times to use it' Especially with good cookware, use the good stuff, and it enjoy it. I have a smaller Le Cruset rectangular piece of cookware, and I use it for everything from lasagna, to pommes fondant, to roasts. I have Pyrex pans that are older than I am. You don't have to be a complete minimalist, if you don't want to :)

My elder two (6 tomorrow and almost 5) I got them both an A4 large storage box they each have a space in the it room to keep the art I don’t ‘forever’ store but they want to keep. If it doesn’t fit in the box they have to get rid of something else or ditch it. Gets them ready to make the ‘emotional’ decisions

I am doing a similar thing! We have a big A3 folder per year. They put everything into that, and after a year I secretly get rid of the 100th monster painting and keep the things that represent their taste and development best. I plan to make some kind of art journal with the best ones and gift it to them when they are adults.

Moved three times and had to lug that thing. Just sold it a few months ago and still have not needed it. I loved the color but didn't need it, want it or use it. It was very easy to get rid of. Simple meals here and all i use is a baking shery with the oven or a frying pan on the stove. It gets the job done. But if you like them and think you'll use them then keep them :)

Hi! I love your videos! You have so much positive energy! One tip for the spices: you can put a 'anti-slip' mat (like underneath a carpet) to prevent them from sliding. Keep the Le Creuset. One day you will be entertaining - I have to believe that that day will come - and you will want to set a nice table. Le Creuset serves double duty, you can cook AND serve in it. So, I vote for keeping it. It is amazing how much stuff we accumulate without knowing. I remember my Mom moving through the house in much the same way you just did. Whenever she had "an extra 10 minutes" she would go through a drawer or a closet..... She told me, "if you do it when you think of it, it will never get out of hand."' How right she was - and I wish I had listened to her! I'm now using this system that I learned from you. You are such an inspiration to me. I will be decluttering this March!

Hi Steph! Always love watching your videos! Very motivating declutter this time. I may go ahead and do one this spring. We moved at the end of November and we donated and tossed SO much stuff. The only new things we've gotten are things for the house, however in-season clothes and some other stuff we haven't used since the move could be further decluttered. As far as those pots in the pantry drawer that you like? Keep em. Of course keep them! They make you happy, and you aren't taking up space needed for something else. They are pretty. I have my eye on a set as well. There is just something about them. I have an idea for your kids' artwork you might like. Do they like making cards? If so, you could cut down those large pieces into card-size pieces. When its time for a birthday or other occasion, they can pick one of their "premade cards" add some more art to it, a sentiment and sign it. Then at the end of a few months or the year, toss what didn't get used and they can make more for the next year. I don't know what puzzles you have...and I don't have kids but remember my childhood, and my parents found puzzles of my favorite cartoon characters to get my interest. My first puzzle was a Tom and Jerry puzzle. It was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, and I loved putting it together over and over. Maybe your kids would love one with their fav characters? I agree...they are great for kids. And adults lol. Fun to do and it gives you a wee break while they are busy.

It’s so inspiring to see how easy it is to declutter once you’ve done the major house declutter before. Even if twice a year I have to go through my home just to see if I there is anything else we’re not using or loving it will be so easy. I’m still on my decluttering and minimalism journey and it’s taking a while. We’ve lived in our current home for almost twenty years so there are lots of things that we’ve accumulated over the years. Today I was working on the kitchen and found things on the higher shelves that I forgot we even had. I don’t even remember the last time I saw them. We have tall cupboards so I’m trying to only use the first three shelves and keep the fourth shelf empty. That way I can see what I have and it’s easy to reach when I need to. Our thrift shops are closed right now in parts of Ontario. I’ve joined a “No Buy Group” on Facebook for my city just so I can post pictures of things I want to declutter. So far I’ve been lucky and have been able to leave things on my front porch for people to pick up. It’s a win/win situation as I can declutter without leaving my home and the people get things for free.😊❤️🙏

I'm a reading tutor and one of the first things I do when I test a child is see how they put together a simple puzzle. If they don't know how to organize a puzzle, I teach them the picture frame method of finding the straight out edge pieces, putting those together first by matching the picture the on the box then filling it in however they want to organize the pieces. It's amazing the amount of children who are overwhelmed trying to put a puzzle together as they don't know where to start.

Steph, what an amazing video...very inspiring!!!! This came at the right time for me.....I am focused on decluttering... thanks for recapping the time it took for you to accomplish these tasks. I tried to keep up with the number of different tops you were wearing so I could know how many days. THANK YOU for all you share with us!!

1/22/23, I don't know if you saw this new info online, but the dirtiest things in people's kitchens, covered with bacteria and germs, were spice jars, and jars in the fridge. !! I never thought of this while wiping down the whole world with disinfectant wipes! From now on, I don't put them back until they have met hot water, soap, AND disinfectant wipes. Yay! Flylady!

And that is how our houses get so cluttered ! Look how much Steph found after having done a major decluttering just a year before ! If we don't declutter on a regular basis, it just adds up & adds up until it's overwhelming. Just ask me. We have set late June as our deadline....we are decluttering our house. It helps to have a deadline....it keeps us on task.

This was inspiring. Yours and Dawn's donations- amount of stuff still that you can let go of is reassuring.

I feel the same way about puzzles. Just hearing you talk about how your kids don't like them either gave me the push to let mine go. 😁
