Vortex ecu with pipe and lid off and 09r clutch conversion = reliable and cooler running with proper vortex trims

Just bought a vortex ecu aswell, and also have a 478 big bore with 12.75:1 carillo piston and full exhuast and new crank cause I siezed it 😒. But I have other little mods like FCI, Ais delete, titanium head studs,Manual air idle screw,, 2010 clutch basket, oil breather box and stuff like that. I’m going to be sure to start around those numbers when my vortex arrives because no one dyno tunes on vortex around in my area in AZ. Nice video btw

Thanks man! on that specific yfz once we got out on the test ride I believe or final set up was map 1 3-3-5. The owner was very happy with the throttle response and power 😎👍

@@limitlesspowersports thanks man. Im sure mine will be just a slight different bc of the FCI and other mods it didn’t have like mine but shouldn’t be that different. You’re the only person I have came across who actually has shared ecu setting with a big bore. Most people don’t bother sharing it and say to get a dyno tune. Appreciate your work man I’ll be sure to sub !

They completely screwed up everything on the newish yfz450r. Ive been having the same model for 2 years and never had anywhere near these problems.... but i also take care of my quad and put the big 3 on it after a few months and do all my own work because of these types of horror stories. Good luck 👍

My tusk hour meter said to put it on the boot for 4 strokes but maybe I read it wrong

Nice I will look next time I get a new one in it will probably read either way I just think it it much more secure on the wire. What ever brand this hour meter was I would not recommend. When I washed the back off to remove some of the oil the hour meter was not water proof and it killed it. Got the customer a sealed new one.

I have an 09 Yfz450r and it’s gets a little boggy lately at high rpm. I have a MSD tuner that was tuned and ran fine until now. I was thinking of adjusting TPS cause I already put new fuel pump and injector. Any idea what I should do next? Time for vortex? Any tips appreciated thanks 🤟

Hey if it was fine before I would say keep looking before throwing money at a vortex ecu unless it is something you already wanted to get. TPS voltage would have been my first step on that one.

Can I use the same vortex on my 2005 YFZ450 special edition?

Hey, No your YFZ is carbureted they do not offer one for the carb yfz. You would be ok just tuning your carb in with a dynojet kit. no real need for an aftermarket ECU or rev box on those.

I'd be pissed if that was my machine wish more would learn to do their own wrenching saves all this headache

I heard that! This Customer is mutual friends with some of our other YFZ customers. When it came time for a top end rebuild the driving distance was to much for him to get it to me. Once he over paid for the work local and the bike still didn’t run he was able to work out a weekend trip to drive it to me. I fixed everything I could find and I used a pre program map on the vortex to get him ripping the following weekend 🤘😎 I think he will be back for little more power sooner than later so we will get a Dyno tune on it next time.

@Limitless Powersports I own a small shop and have been wrenching on everything from street bikes to atvs for almost 30yrs now u wouldn't believe some the work people have brought me after having at another shop first it's unreal how bad some these people who claim to be mechanics will butcher a customer's machine only to put more money in there own pockets it's fkd up honestly I'm completely the opposite I never try to overs sell anyone to make more tbh in most cases I make less to give the customer who's on a budget a solid trouble free machine back because in the long run a return satisfied customer and his word of mouth to others will make me more in the long run I've always felt u can rip someone off once and get that money one time or u can do people right and get them to return with more
