I was planning to do the loop on a trawler with whatever woman I’m with at the time, but after binge watching your videos I think I may do it in 2-3 months alone. I have so many questions!!! Please do a video with how you’re planning. What your fuel burn is. How you’re finding your stops. Alllll of it. You’re a badass man. I love your adventurous spirit and am seriously considering replicating your adventure.

Thanks for the compliments...! There are big advantages to doing the GL on a boat vs. a ski - namely that you can sleep on your boat, and you don't have to worry about booking hotels. You can also anchor vs. always stopping in a marina. Doing it on a ski (all in one go) is unique, and more like a marathon. You might be going by all kinds of great and unique places, but there is just not enough time to stop and smell the roses. I have a KZitem Playlist for all of the videos about my prep and planning. kzitem.info/door/PLnMEDGIzUGpemltc4Yqh7n1882khVzBoy

I do wish someone else could have joined me. But 3 months off, and having the crazies enough to do 6800 miles... that is a hard find.

That has to be the Juan Rodriguez that I know and met on the Tennessee 600 Jetski trip. He’s told me of his trip to the Bahamas! 👍

That swing bridge isn't just still active it's actually only a couple years old it replaced a older ferry that was there for years! It takes you from the mainland of Georgetown over to south Island plantation! It's now owned by state of South Carolina was once owned by Tom Yawkee owner of Boston red Sox he left the island to the state when he died it's now a wildlife reserve!

Love your journey so far. Great videos. Not sure if you’ve had any Canadian invites yet but we would love to meet you and offer some B&B. You’ll go right by our home on the Trent Severn between the locks of Buckhorn and Bobcageon. We see all the loopers as they travel through. I’ll keep following and will reach out when you’re closer. Safe travels. Wayne

THANK YOU, Wayne, for reaching out and offering!!! While I would love to do the TS someday, and I really enjoy traveling through Canada (been to 12 of the 13 Provinces and Territories...) - I don't think I will be doing that leg. I will likely stick to the Great Lakes, moving along at a faster clip and avoiding customs headaches, etc.

How shallow is the water on some of your ICW routes? This is pretty awesome by the way!

Did you consider tripltek over the sailproof? I can’t decide between the two. Thanks

I can't remember if I researched the tripltek. The Sailproof needs a bigger battery and better charge ports. But it has held up well so far.

How long was your trip from Charleston to Murrells Inlet?
@MichaelStraubSeaDooLooper
Жыл бұрын
I had to check my GPS log! Roughly 5 hours to do the 85 miles. My cruising speed was typically 25-30 mph - mostly to conserve fuel, but to also 'enjoy the ride'. Plus there were some no-wake zones in there as well.

@MichaelStraubSeaDooLooper ty for your response! My brother in law in myrtle just purchased a gtx and I'm going for the first pro trophy like yourself down here in Charleston. Looking forward to making this trip a few times this year!

Have you ever made the trip out on the ocean?

Not that stretch. Other stretches of my "Great Loop" trip were spent on the outside. Just gotta hit your weather windows, and be ready for a rougher ride.
