Their V-6s are awful. The “new” pilot engine has a bit more power than the Highlander I-4 for much less torque. It has less power than the old Kia/Hyundia V-6. The mdx type s has the least power in class and worst mpg. It’s an awful V-6.

We have the 2022 MDX Type S advance and love it. We have had it since April and had a small issue with the air ride but it was fixed and Acura gave us credits for our time. This has been my favorite vehicle I have ever owned(Out of 16 vehicles). Super comfortable and has the guts to pass or keep up with traffic. We have ours in the blue and it is absolutely beautiful. We had a standard MDX as our loaner and it is night and day to the Type S. Our biggest complaint is the infotainment. It is hard to use while driving but you get used to it over time. Total value play over a Volvo or BMW, which is what we were cross-shopping.

I have a 22 MDXAdvance (no type S) since 8/2021. I enjoy it very much (I reserve LOVE for people generally). I agree with the reviewer even though I have not driven the Type S, other than the better HP / Torque, I'm not sure thye add'l $10K or more is worth that trade off. With the gas prices escalating (they are again !!), the MDX does poorly and even worse in the Type S. I leased mine in 8/ 2021 for 3 years. In 15 months as a retiree doing primarily local trips with the 2X a month longer distance trips to visit grandkids, I have only 7600 miles on it, well under my annual allotment. With a Buyout price of $38K in 8/ 2024, I will have Big time equity (unless the market collapses or more influenced by EVs ) I could Buy mine on the cheap. Or trade it in for a new 2024 Type S.

I don't really get why people care so much about that. What are you needing to change all the time for the infotainment? I only use it to switch between bluetooth and the radio. Everything else is a button. Even then I don't find it that difficult to use. I think it would have made more sense to pull it forward and make it a touchscreen, but apparently people complained about the screen always smudging. That's why they changed it.

really enjoying my 22 MDX Advance (Non S Type) since August 2021. I agree with the TTIP InfoT. system - still a bugaboo for me but learning to accept it. The soind system is Phenominal!! a few regrets and wish I had some of the features of the Type S : The massgaing Seats, the Auto Dampening (not the air suspension) in the shocks / Struts [ which incredibly is in the higher end RDX models since 2019 and in all MDX models in Canada, but NOT in the US modesl???]; the Bembro Brakes wjhich have more solid pedal feel than mine; and although having more HP and Torque is great (there is a sacrifice of MPGs which are poor anyway) Acura should have done either of two things: 1) Tweak the 3.5 Engine for an additional HP bump / torque too or 2) kept the Sport Hybrid engine which would have been the complete No Brainer Model to acquire. Good Luck on your MDX Type S Advance.
