Useful video, many tips, thank you. Bought the 2021 recoil bar but the flexible rubber split and ripped after a just few uses over the winter and I’ve been waiting 3 months for a new warranty replacement after Cabrinha rejected warranty initially with the shop, despite only a few uses of the new bar I bought. Disappointed with the Cabrinha unhelpful reaction & now timeframe. Honest feedback here from a loyal Cabrinha customer with 5 x kites and board and accessories but it means nothing. Had trouble getting a new board handle on warranty period when it snapped just carrying my board. Feels awkward during warranty having problems getting issues sorted. New 2020 bar broke only just outside warranty on the swivel part and no support received or spare parts offered, even after spending on Cabrinha within a few weeks and months $10,000. Did get a new board handle n the end, nothing for first bar, nothing yet for 2nd bar (3 months wait so far).

Damn, sorry to hear. whats the flexible rubber that youre referring to? Is it the depower mainline?

@@KiteboardingStPetersburg It’s the handle of the bar (after the right angle) where it is thin and flexible (on purpose) with the lines inside - but it’s all split and broken unfortunately. :)

Finally a clear explanation of the line width adjustments! THX. I'm a newbie and others had told me wrong. So as a newbie on a 12m (my only kite at this point), which width would you recc.?

Thanks Doug! I would say it depends.. If you feel like you sometimes dont have good kite control with things like putting the board on or body dragging or ever feel like the kite is "getting away from you" - then do the 44cm setting but if you want the kite to be more responsive then do the 52cm setting

have you observed that the trim line(bungee in the cleat) wears out quickly? what I don't like from this bar is the number of extensions necessary to have a length of 24m. It's really not slick..

Great video, I am about to buy this trimlite and it comes handy. Do you think it's a good bar for beginners? Also what would you recommend to take care of it and if it has any caveats while riding

Hey mate! Thanks for the video. I just got this bar, but I’m worried about those big foam pieces… how durable are they because I can se crinkles when I wrap them up and bend them? I’m new to kiting so I might just be paranoid.

Ive had mine for over a year now and still have no problems with it! I recommend wrapping it the way we wrap it in the video above

Thanks for video What is difference between carbinha moto and switchblade ? For a newbie like me is 9 m or 10 m a better option (83-86 kg weight). Also what size of board. Looking for all rounder kite and board.

Take a Moto. Its more forgiving in case of wrong stearing and has a larger windrange. Also depower is a bit more at the low end. It has 3 struts so you can better ride in lower winds. Size depends on the strength of the wind. If wind is around 18 knots I would go with the 10 or 11.

Have this exact bar but had a jet ski get into my lines and sucked up one of my steering lines and ripped the left leader out of the handle and lost the insert cassette piece. Any advice where to get all the parts in one place? I find one piece on a website then another on a different site. Really frustrating i cant get all the stuff I need on one shop so it all comes at once. It also messed up the depower center ones that go through the black tube. I pulled that line out and disconnected it but apparently ypu buy the whole thing in one piece.

There is better way to wrap the bar up. Just let the plastic coated depower line out. Start wrapping from one floater and both front lines, then wrap it around the bar in a figure of 8 and take the last floater after first wrap. Wrap it on the side of floaters. You did it from the side of chickenloop. Using this procedure unwrapping will be easier. Also your depower line will stay straight.

"better" is subjective.. this way also allows me to see if all four lines are tuned when i get to the end of the pigtails.. also when laying the lines out i believe this method is quicker

@@KiteboardingStPetersburg sorry I didn't get it. Could you explain the advantages of your way of winding lines.
@KiteboardingStPetersburg

@@bodhisar at 5:16 in the video I demonstrate where i get the outside lines, then the center lines. I hold all four lines together at their starting point and figure 8 on the chicken loop side. 1 advantage is that by the time i get to the pigtails I can get a general sense of if my lines are tuned.. if you look carefully at the end of the wrap you can see my center lines are an inch longer than the outside lines (they need a slight tuning). advantage 2 is that when im laying the lines out from the chickenloop side, no floaters get in the way so all lines easily come undone.. if you look at a new cabrinha bar, they come wrapped from the chicken loop side.. but again, totally subjective so whats better for me may not be better for you.. I think as long as the depower main line doesnt get bent in an unnatural way all is good.

@@KiteboardingStPetersburg Your depower line is bent. The best way to check your lines is to check it properly. But yeah, if you like your way, why not.

@@bodhisar the depower mainline is not bent. And I agree, the best way to check your lines is to do a proper tune BUT this method provides a general sense of if your lines are tuned or not.. Anywho, this conversation is going in circles. Happy kiting!

Hm - I don't really get it, you are calling everything a feature that is totally normal (Swivel, Quickrelease, Flagout-Line, ..) These thick pigtails at the connection 18m + 4m ... nothing i want to have there. Swivel is no Auto-Swivel - that would be a feature. Clamcleat is not working well .. takes you several attemps to release it .. not nice while driving.

I’m sorry you don’t really get it - features in the English language are defined as attributes or traits of a certain object. This is what I talk about. What I believe you’re commenting about or “looking” for are “features that stand apart from other brands” - that’s not what I’m doing here. I’m just drawing attention to “traits” or “attributes” on this control bar. Stay positive my friend and happy kiting
