I kinda feel like Big Disc Energy never really got its chance to fly... with how 2020 went from "this year will be big" to... well, we all know what happened... The music since then has reflected that. 2021's Moving Day was very "we're just happy to still be here", and Ten Down this year is finally starting to be "excitment that can actually be fulfilled" again.

39:45 The reason Brodie's form is simple is because it is from Ultimate. Power generation with minimal movement is necessary because you have to throw far with no steps and no setup to avoid getting hand-blocked. Having any hitches or unnecessary movement in your throw gets beaten out of you extremely quickly and brutally. He's refined that for accuracy since the baskets don't actively move to catch, but the basis is still that efficient power generation.

Lotsa folks had issues with the fact that Brodie was on main cards that were being filmed on his 1st year of disc golf. But I always thought that if he spent years as 1 of the best Ultimate Frisbee players, disc golf should be a sport that he should have a much easier & faster job to learn (if he puts in the time & evergy) than your average Joe with no disc throwing experience. To me it seems like he dedicated himself to the sport and I feel happy that he has made it to the final round lead card at a major championship. Let's Go Brodie!

"This good this fast" re Brodie: He's an athlete and as Sexton pointed out he's thrown a lot of discs playing ultimate. He was a top level player. And with the trick shots learned how to manipulate a disc. He made a job of the craft of throwing a(n ultimate) disc with creativity. And practice a creative throw until it was perfect, dude (see his colabs with Dude Perfect). Didn't realize almost when pro with golf. The game planning of a course was there then too. Much like 'breakout' musician who's finally getting songs in a specific genre on the radio (or Spotify etc) but been making their own music for decades. In ultimate, I wasn't a big fan of him. Yet how he has been open about he his learning process (and mistakes) I've come to appreciate him. Thanks for having an open conversation about it.

Two things. 1. I have a friend who used to play Ultimate Frisbee and switched to Disc golf He, is one of the most consistent shot shapers and usually is in the top 4 for league points at the end of the season. That's why Brodie grew so quickly. 2.@Jomez crew. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Then on the contrary, Sunday was a beautiful day with ZERO wind, allowing everyone in the field to attempt at salvaging their scores! But Saturday was amazing to watch because I ALMOST felt like these guys were human; just for alil bit anyways, with their pitch up shots from 30 feet because they couldn’t trust what the disc would do with the wind gusting!!
