You're blessed to work from home! I'm a teacher and half my planner stress comes from trying to decide what I really want to and feel safe taking to work when I know kids and other adults are in close proximity to my desk space...NO real privacy! So any suggestions on how to make the system flow in an every day carry so I can truly commit to the system would be appreciated. Great to see you back and love this series! Take care!

Do you have your teacher/work planner combined with your EDC? If so I would suggest separating them just because of the nature of your job. Because I work in financial and insurance services I knew if I created a work planner it would be separate because it would be subject to be turned over in a court order if anything ever happened. Plus if I ever went into the office I wouldn't want others to have access to my family's schedule and details.

@@antonishapolitepeoples yes it’s my 20th year and I’ve always had a separate work planner for confidential reasons. I’m just struggling to find my perfect size and weight as EDC to use when I have a little downtime and I want to add to inbox or knock out a next action. I don’t want to keep duplicating because I feel so disorganized when I have part of my lists in my Hobonichi Weeks and part in my classic HP.😩

Thank-you so much for your explanation here...I've been attempting to implement GTD but found the clarify/process steps confusing. A flow chart that I have found REALLY helpful is from Joy at TheDelicateLeo that has 5 question-boxes down the side and the places to "park" the items down the right--it has tremendously clarified my process! (Hope it's all right to mention that on your vlog.) Now I'm off to watch and implement the rest of your series. M

Another question: can I put inserts in a spiraled planner? I love the day designer but I'm looking for ways to be even more organized since I have some long range projects to start!

There are punches made to match spiral planners where you can slit the holes once you punch it and add them in. I haven't used one of the Day Designers so not sure how well slit pages will stay in long term.

Which disc planner do you use?

This one was either a Martha Stewart or TUL cover from Office Depot and some discs. With discount, I normally piece together my own planner system.

Do you take your planner with you on the go?

To be honest I don't really "go" anywhere lol. I work from home but this big beast never leaves my desk lol. I use my Google calendar for appointments so that is always on my phone. I use a personal size Filofax Finsbury as a wallet so I can always throw some scrap paper in there if I need something on the go.

I am autistic so the bluntness is not trying to be meanI! It is just that the bulky disc system just bothers me too much I guess aesthetically, the sticking out and their size. thought this was Franklin Planner, sorry not interested in anything Happy Planner. Good luck to you. I commented, liked the video, and just let it run to complete so all the boxes are ticked according to the algorithms to promote your channel.

A frakenplanner is just putting together various pieces to build your own system. I have done this in disc, rings, and a travellers notebook system. Use whatever system works for you.

To be honest IMHO a franklin planner, having used one since 1992, is a trademark that I will not agree with your interpretation of it. You run a book of collections, that I can agree with. Yes it was part of the system, but I was hoping for a real Franklin Planner with the layouts inside or a technique for that system on the 2 page per day daily papers. I do not care that you an undated things from someone’s Etsy shop, just do not call it a Franklin Planner in my book. As for where you buy your GTD inserts, I think people need to back off and let the original person who started the inserts get the credit and sales. I am a person that believes that a lot of what I have seen for planner inserts on Etsy is plagiarism. I do not know who to buy them from because I do not know the first person everyone ripped their tables off of. These collection lists were not part of the GTD book, since he describes a filing system, a trash can, and a simple calendar. Yes this a negative post. Just that it is a morally objectionable to my autistic self not find the original seller, and using of trademark without the actual purchased pages from Franklin Covey.

I apologize that you did not understand the title of my video. I have used FRANKLIN PLANNERS from the Franklin Planner Company before and I have set up videos and flip throughs of them on my channel. I have also done videos talking about the Franklin Covey Planner system in depth on this channel including a full book study on Stephen Covey's 7 Habits book. You are welcome to watch those if you would like. A FRANKENPLANNER is a term that was created in the planner community in reference to the character Frankenstein that was put together from various pieces. It refers to any planner that is put together from bits and pieces from different places but it is primarily used in reference to Happy Planners because they have so many interchangeable parts. Again I apologize that you are not familiar with that term and misinterpreted it but I did take anything from the Franklin Planner company or infringe on their trademark in any way.
