What a well-groomed trail, smooth hardpack void of ruts, rocks and sudden obstacles which is rare commodity out in the real world. For the majority of riders the AT is best left on the pavement or a dirt road at most.

Yes indeed, there are a few different venues in the area available to Honda adventure centre, plenty of land to train on.

That was a little nerve wracking to watch. A great single track trail but gets pretty technical in spots, especially when raining. Glad you got through in one piece!

Hi ,Thank you for watching. Yes tracks were very challenging at the time, especially in wet conditions We were pushed out of the comfort zone by the instructors Overall an excellent experience ,highly recommended 👍

If you don't mind a question, did you get exhausted by doing all that? I've signed up for a 4 day guided trail trip, hopefully not as technical as that and I feel I may not have the leg strength and cardio to make it through. I've started doing some exercises but being close to 60 I wonder if it's going to do any good. @@piandthewheels

Hi, I'm happy to answer any questions. That were a tough two days of riding as I had no previous experience of riding such a heavy bike in such a demanding terrain. I was tired more mentally rather than physically. (Being so tense whole time perhaps, costed me more mental effort then it would an experienced rider.) My physical conditioning is slightly above the avarage as I exercise on the regular basis(and work as a PT), so physically I was fine. We had regular breaks for snacks and drink(very important to stay hydrated etc) Regardless of the difficulties of your upcoming trip I would recommend investing some time in improving physical conditioning. Four days in the saddle still maybe demanding. One or two sessions a week in the gym + some extra time playing on the bike will make a massive diference. Out of interest, where are you planning to go?@@baldandbiking

I've never tried Dct but there were some people riding dcts.They seemed to be doing ok and liking it Some people say it is easier to ride it in tricky terrain as you don't have to play with gears,clutching etc also almost impossible to stoll the engine I think at the end DCT must be tried whether suits the rider

Capable and beautiful bike but it's not where it shines. I wouldn't be dropping a $20k just for fun. That terrain is for the XTZ 150, 250 max. Africa Twin, just like big Beemers are for long distance traveling IMHO. Cheers 🤠

Hi, yes you are pretty right that dropping 20k worth of bike would be no fun if it was yours. However, on this occasion, we were given a unique opportunity to ride/test AT in various terrain, on the road, gravel, green lines, etc without the stress of dropping it. That's the idea behind the 2DAYS EXPERIENCE, at HONDA ADVENTURE CENTRE UK. You never know in what type of situation/terrain you may end up in. Over that 2days I have learned a lot about this bike's strengths, abilities, etc. Great experience, highly recommended! regards!

Beautiful trail and beautiful bike. Got myself the 2022 matte black DCT in October last year. It's been a blast so far. Did you try riding it in the off-road or gravel mode?

When going off-road you should switch to "Off-Road" mode and disable HSTC: kzitem.info/news/bejne/lGl5yKaqkICWZHo And here is more off-road stuff: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2X6AzaaOr5yJZmU

Hi ,I have not used DCT bike yet.ON this occasion I ve chosen to use manual. However, I spoke a lot with guys using dct,and they swear by it,especially on turing or commuting. Apparently, off road does pretty well as well. At the end of the day, it must be tried as it is down to personal choice I guess

AT is a very capable bike ,I am a novice off road rider and the bike gave me a lot of confidence. Didn't feel heavy, although it is a heavy bike. We had an opportunity to test it in various terrain/surface and the bike was a pleasure to ride. Ofcourse for someone who does only trails there are better/lighter choices (crf 300 etc) AT is great all rounder with plenty of comfort for touring

Could you lift the bike up by yourself?
@piandthewheels

Hi,yes.There are usually other riders and instructors around to help you, and you are advised not to lift bikes by yourself. However, on one occasion I was on my own and had to pick the bike up by myself, it is heavy beast though.
