@@dc2k453 15,000 after 14 months, I would say the only problems so far are connectivity issues with CarPlay/android auto and the acceleration is kinda lackluster but other than that no real problems. However I would get a 2022 instead of the 2021 because the 21 is a redesign year and we don’t know if there’s anything “wrong” with it yet but typically for redesign years, the first year has small issues that’s fixed the next year

I own a 2016 Hyundai Elantra. This new version improved a lot comparing with the one I have. 1st, it looks 10X more aggressive. 2nd, the sport driving mode certainly will provide a better driving experience. How I feel about my 2016 Elantra: 1. It has exactly the same performance as Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, but it saved me $3000 USD easily. 2. The acceleration when you drive in the city (under 55 MPH) is not bad at all. 3. The acceleration when you drive on the highway (over 60 MPH) is... you get what you paid for. 4. Gas efficiency is amazingly great. 5. The safety of this small car is actually great too. I had a pretty bad accident on the highway. The rear bumper did a great job. I was not injured at all but the guy who hit me was taken by ambulance. Agree with Steve. Perfect option if you are looking for a first car or something that takes you from A to B

Nice video! Over the lifespan of the vehicle, the Hybrid option will return several multiples of its purchase price. This means that buying a high trim level Hybrid will give you improved performance from the torquey electric motor and improved handling from the fully independent rear suspension, all for free. The fuel savings offset the cost of the higher trim level, meaning that you enjoy the advantages of the high trim level for free. I own a 2023 Luxury Hybrid, and I love it!

@@CarsWithSteve 2006 Mercedes E350 AWD. A very sweet car, but the Elantra gets more than twice the gas mileage, and it does it with 87 Octane gas (the Merc demanded 91 Octane minimum, 93 preferred). My fuel bill dropped from the low to mid $200s, down to $70 a month. The Elantra is a stunning vehicle.

@@CarsWithSteve primarily a commuter vehicle with more than enough pep, especially in SPORT. The body lines, aggressive front end styling and low profile not only looks good but gives you that sense of driving something a little more. The cockpit doesn't get old at all as everything is slanted to a driver's perspective. The IVT is smooth as butter and I love them simulated revs! Tech is great, ride is smooth, seats are premium and have a slight snug. I find myself resting my hand on the bar to the right as I drive: it's good for finger tapping as I start rocking to my tunes Bluelink is a cool feature. So far so good 😎✌

It really sucks that they raised the price in Canada from $17,999 to $19,954. I really wish they offered the N-Line in Canada with a manual transmission, and with adaptive cruise control. I have been shopping for a new car and I am so surprised how hard it is to find adaptive cruise control even in higher trims. My 2016 GTI even had it and it was a manual.
@CarsWithSteve
2 жыл бұрын
The price increases are happening for most brands on the base MSRP unfortunately. It's crazy how hard it is to find cars with manual transmissions now What price point are you trying to stay in? And are you stuck on the manual transmission too?
@JacobHolmes747
2 жыл бұрын
@@CarsWithSteve I was pretty much going to pull the trigger on a base model but the price increase made me want to reassess. The manual is not 100% necessary but I do prefer it. I have considered every Elantra model, I like the price of the base model, the tech in the Ultimate/Hybrid Ultimate trims are very nice, the N-Line is a great car (I test drove one) but it really would be better with a manual in my opinion, and the N is stunning but more than I think I want to pay, although I did come very close to pulling the trigger to a Veloster N DCT several months ago. I have typically been into more sporty cars, I had a Subaru BRZ, a VW GTI, and now drive an 05 RSX Type-S which needs replacement for my needs (frequent 1200km drives to see family). This is why tech features such as adaptive cruise are generally appreciated but not absolutely needed. I am shopping in the under ~$30k range, but I have no real limit. I think the new Elantras are really stunning cars. I also am very intrigued by the MK8 GTI.
@CarsWithSteve
2 жыл бұрын
@@JacobHolmes747 There are a lot of options in that price range. With adaptive cruise the Kia Forte would fit... the GT Forte has a 7 speed DCT. The Mustang EcoBoost 101a with Smart/Safe would be just above the price range (RWD only though) Haven't jumped into VW's in the past few years but heard good things from people that own the GTI I've got a good idea for a future video now because of this, so thanks!

There was an issue with some Elantras that had the 2.0L non turbo engine from 2019 - mid 2021 that stemmed from piston oil rings not being properly heat-treated. Doesn't look like it affected any other engines and seems like there's no carry over to late 2021 or 2022 models. So.. hopefully it's fixed!
