Just picked up my 22 carbon R limited #770 . These are a work of art 🎨 No prettier more bad ass raw looking or feeling bike out there . Immediately grabbed a dynojet 3 and ordered tune from fuel moto and still choosing exhaust but I'm telling you this is a REAL BIKE . They kept the lines right. They kept it simple but made it so complex all at the same time. Reminds me of a 77 kawi kz 750 I owned but with a Flux capacitor for a motor and some space ship parts slapped on it. The tune I got woke it up a bit and the exhaust takes it even further. Imagine like stage 2 cam swaps down the road and what not !? I'm stoked to say the least . Just raw

Everybody in every demographic loves the look of my '22 FTR, and I can honestly tell ya it does NOT feel like 500 lbs. I did not set out to buy one, but when I visited the dealership, I just couldn't leave without it. Every time I crank that bitch up, it puts a smile on my face. This is coming from a guy that had a Buell 1125R with 30 more horsies. I personally don't give a shit about fuel economy or metric bikes to be quite frank. Cheers.

I really like the Yamaha XSR900 at $9500. It has 115 hp, at 430 lbs, 3.7 gallon tank but 44 mpg. The Yamaha only has 65 lb. ft. of torque..... 22 lb. ft. less than the Indian but is 84 lbs. lighter and $3500 less.

None of these bikes are comparable to the FTR! The FTR is a V twin, flat track style. The fact is no one has a comparable bike! The only bikes that might come close are an old Ducati monster or old tube frame Buell. The FTR is a stand alone, love it or hate it bike!

The FTR is being labelled as a muscle bike, which means it doesn't really belong in the same company as a street triple rs or a BMW s1000r or a z900rs (all high-revving screamers). A better comparison would have been IMO: Triumph speed twin Ducati monster 1200 BMW rninet Yamaha mt10 The cynic in me says you chose your comparators to make the FTR the easy pick 😉😄. I do think though that I would still have the 2022 FTRs or carbon (the weight saving could be essential!) over the bikes I've listed 😁😁, it's absolutely stunning.

Haha I appreciate the feedback, truly. I didn’t choose the competitors to make the FTR the winner, it’s a newer to me market and might have missed on these a bit (live and learn). Thanks for the feedback, I find it hard to label the FTR as a muscle bike because I think of Vrod, M109R, Xdiavel, vmax as muscle bikes. Thanks again though for the feedback and will take that into consideration on another iteration.

this video is great. My wife got a Scout Bobber this last summer, and i got to test drive an FTR while at the dealer. I have driven a Street Triple couple years back, and i like the engine of the FTR. The power is usable and easy to enjoy, it feels solid when driving as well. The Triumph though felt more nimble...so my big dilemma comes in where is the FTR worth it? the Sport model is 15,000...so its expensive...but my brother works at the dealer and noone buys the base model, so comparing that price is pointless. all these other bikes have more range, less weight, cheaper price....but like some of them require more RPM to get the power or Torque...so less real world usability. for 2023 the FTR gets graphics and plastic bits that ruin the flat track look which totally sucks, so like now its just got that engine...is that engine worth the price? It just seems like logically the FTR has one pro, the engine, and a bunch of cons...weight, range, cost, ugly plastic bits and paint schemes for 2023...so is that pro worth it?

thanks for the reviews. not sure why you chose to compare the FTR to the street triple (765cc) instead of the closer competitor the speed triple (1050cc). the price of the FTR carbon is very similar to the speed triple RS, but if you wanted to stick to just the base FTR, the speed triple S is $1k more..

The FTR is a great bike, but is more of a neo-retro standard than a Euro-style hypernaked. It seems the FTR would be cross-shopped more with the R Nine T, or even R 1250 R, than the S 1000 R. They ended up in the same price range for different reasons.
