This was awesome to see. I'm about to get a V3X at Live Oak Archery. I'm sure every tech has their own way of doing things but I think some of those things just should be the standard. Very clean and detailed, thanks.

I would run the sight all the way in and then cut off the excess with a arrow saw will make it look cleaner. A hunting sight doesn’t do much good if it’s extended all the way out.

I though about drilling holes on the dovetail and cutting it short to lighten it, but the sight housing is so darn heavy and I'm unsure what lightening the dovetail bar would do to the balance of the bow. I want an Axcel Landslyde 3-pin, which is almost half the weight of the Hogg Father. I still want one but nothing is available at the moment. I'll eventually swap out the current sight when the Landslyde becomes available. I agree, there's no benefit in running a hunting sight all the way out. I'm only 3 notches in and there are 10 notches on the dovetail bar.

48 minute video putting a new bow set up together? lol. Reminds me of my OCD doing that. Everything has to be as perfect as can be +. No cam lean, everything set dead center thru the axis of the bow. And on & on. 99.9% of my set ups on PSE, ELITE, and when I have to a Mathews shoot bullet holes. I HAVE to know it's right or it drives me nuts. Just wish I could shoot the things as well as they get set up.

LOL. As archers and/or bowhunters, many of us have that problem. We get our bows perfectly setup and tuned so we cannot blame it on the equipment when we can't hit the broadside of a barn. 😆

Thanks for watching. Good question. Not sure why he didn't check ATA and BH. But it doesn't really matter that much to me if both ATA and BH are a few fraction of an inch off as long as I can shoot the bow well.

Roman great video. Saw that Raymond is now over at Outlaw Archery in the Woodlands. I typically have Raymond or Richard work on my bows. But here’s a question for you. I’m looking to get new cables and string for my V3x33. How have the Twisted X been a year in? And I’m also a 28” draw length, and was wonder if the switch mod u set up your bow with is the 27.5” and how’s that been going down .5”?

Ive decided to get a new bow every 2 years I personally can't justify not "feeling" a difference to drop 1800+ every year
@romanracela
2 жыл бұрын
I totally understand. $1800 is a lot of money. However, if you sell your old bow every year, you're really just buying a new bow for around $300 if you are reusing the accessories from your previous bow. Personally, I spend over $300 a year in Starbucks coffee. A total waste of money! LOL :)

the d loop was tied for a left hand shooter, something to do with not twisting/torquing the string when using a hand held release, the other thing I was wondering was are the factory cables served were they go through the roller guards?

Top video, But why do you choose such a big bow?
@romanracela
2 жыл бұрын
Good question. I'm only 5'9" so the bow does look sort of big for my stature. However, the string angle really works well for me and the longer ATA is perfect for western hunting. I still have my V3 31 for tree stand and saddle hunting. Although, I don't think a 33' bow would be an issue up in the tree. But for sure it would be tough for ground blinds.

Hey I don’t remember it being mentioned but how tall are you (purchaser of the v3x 33”)? I’m 5’6 and considering the 33 because I want something I can use for hunting and competition. Any feedback or advice?
@romanracela
2 жыл бұрын
I am 5'9". The V3X 33 is definitely a great "crossover" bow that can do double duty as a hunting bow and target bow. The long ATA can pose as a challenge to shorter guys like us when bows like the V3X 33 is used for saddle, tree stand, and ground blind hunting. The V3X 33 will be my spot and stalk bow for when I'm in the western part of the US and my V3 31 for everything else. I hope this helps.

Question, shouldn’t the rest be extended like at full draw when leveling the arrow and setting nock rest?
@romanracela
2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I think typically the answer is yes. However, QAD has made it easy to install and setup the Integrate MX rest. Like Raymond mentioned in the video, the QAD has an indicator or arrow that needs to line up to a line or tick mark on the riser as a starting point (15:22 on the video timestamp). Also, the centerguard on the V3 and V3X makes it even easier to lineup and level the arrow. Obviously a bubble lever still needs to be used. In my case, the fall away rest installed on my V3X 33 was taken off my VXR 31.5 so setting it up was even easier. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

Yes. They come with a 75# max draw weight and available in 31.5" max DL. They do run about 1/2-inch DL longer so their 31.5" will measure 32 inches on the draw board.

Diference between MX and IMX and any better than Hamskea Trinity Hunter Pro?
@romanracela
2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if QAD has an MX model, but they do have the MXT. The basic difference between the MXT and the IMX is the flush integration of the IMX on the risers of the Traverse and Vertix models and newer Mathews models. They both still have the micro adjustment clicks for the windage and elevation of the launcher. I haven’t had any problems with the QAD IMX. They’re durable, quiet, consistent, and I like the arrow containment on the QAD 100X better than the Hamskea. Although the Hamskea Trinity Hunter Pro is loud when shooting your bow, it is overbuilt like a tank and will survive more abuse than the QAD IMX. The arrow containment on the Hamskea is pretty horrible and your arrow just rattles around on the launcher. Another difference between the QAD and Hamskea is the former uses a cable driven system while the latter uses a limb driven system. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
