I’m still considering an EV and was very keen on a Polestar 2, however I was disappointed by the rear headroom which easily touches the back of your head, it just seems a bit cramped to me. I hadn’t considered Tesla but went and had a look and I was very impressed. I feel that the Polestar shows the fact that it’s based on a Volvo EX40 ICE base and that makes it halfway between an ICE and EV with layout and the controls. I personally prefer that Tesla have started with a blank canvas and a new take on whats possible with an EV.

Interesting review...I think you liked it! Interesting comment about build quality, which would seem to be better than Tesla. My only concern is one that comes up in Autocar et Al... How easy is it to mis-use the touch screen when jiggling down imperfect UK roads?

For me, this knocks a Tesla into a cocked hat. The Polestar began life as a Volvo concept, and was gifted to Polestar by Volvo to complete it's development. It will probably be a better thought out car than a Tesla, as it will have a few decades worth of Volvo input on comfort, safety, and crash-worthiness........ Ah yes Jim, the seats. Volvo are often said to have some of the most comfortable seats you'd find in *any* car.....and like you said, this isn't a Volvo. But I'll wager the seats are of Volvo design though..... Money no object, this is what I'd have on my drive..... I'm beginning to see as many of these as I do Teslas in my area......

You’re looking good in that Jim 👍🏻 I really like the spec and I’ll say that again, I would rather have a polestar that a bloody boring Tesla. Design, presence and attention to details, like those lovely frameless side mirrors. I just love it. Annoyingly, they still haven’t sort AppleCarPlay out, which I find a bit ridiculous for - 50k car. Also, how did you find the one-driving pedal?

Thank you for the video. Range anxiety is an issue. How quickly a car warms up in winter. In real terms what is the range of EV's in Winter. These are the questions that perhaps if answered truthfully would encourage more people down the path. And of course a soild 100% guarantee from the government that every charger works when you get to it. 😊

I got this version 6 weeks ago here In Tampa and a week later a new Tesla model Y and I really dislike the Tesla, The Polestar 2 is incredable to drive and holding its power, the Tesla leaks so much power, A visit to the beach 2 weeks ago both cars parked in the sun with windshield shades up and 6 hours parked Tesla windows vented lost 55 miles range and the Polestar 2 1 mile.We leave for a long weekend away tomorrow and we have stopped taking the bigger Tesla Y as it is just not nice. I have ordered the new Polestar 3 and I will sell the Tesla Y, We love this Polestar and this review is fantastic and true, there is a little more trunk/boot space under the rear floor and I love the turn signal noise Andrew

The Tesla commits the biggest crime a car can do, be incredibly dreary to look at. For a car that isn't far off £55k, the Tesla looks so boring and worth about 20k. Having driven a Performance Model 3 and a Polestar, the Polestar is the one I would take home. Tesla is like every American product, built to a price, and it badly shows. Yes, it has better range, but so what.
