Thanx a bunch for this video. I was arguing with the dealer about optimal gear ratio as I had my heart set on 444. For my average loading (15-18K lbs) I think the 444 will be better, keeping the cummins in the torque sweet spot. Unfortunately, while we were debating this, ordering restrictions were placed. Been waiting about 3 weeks so far and still no firm order placed. Anyhow, thanx again for the video. Yes it was long but I watched it all and appreciated it.

I’m glad you found it helpful. I don’t think that you’ll regret going with 4.44’s. I think I need the extra oomph pulling the 30k trailers but if I was under 21k I would have chosen the 4.44’s for sure. The max tow package required the 4.88’s

Do you think a Ram HO Cummins or HO Powerstroke is a better engine? Either would need to pull a 46 foot fifth wheel, and either truck would be a Ram 3500 dually or a Ford F-450.

I have a 2022 powerstroke as well. I can’t speak to the 2023 HO powerstroke but my 2022 powerstroke is hands down much better than the Cummins. I has a lot more power. I had a 2022 3500 before I traded it in on my F-350 Tremor and my tremor drives like it has 200hp more than the Cummins. It’s also significantly better on fuel. The Cummins has a better engine brake. That is the only thing it does better. I’m also going through 4 times the DEF in the Cummins trucks. They are missing the sensor that meters how much DEF is injected and running on 100% duty cycle. This amounts to around 2.5gal of DEF every 1000km. I’ve not been let down by the 5500 but I’ve not been very impressed with it. It does the job I bought it for but I know it could be better. It’s not a bad truck but it’s an inefficient truck. I would buy an F-450 hands down. I had a 2019 which I wish I hadn’t sold. I have a few videos of that truck on my channel as well. It impressed me every day with the loads I hauled with it. It never skipped a beat. It rode exceptionally well. My 5500 makes my kidneys hurt haha

I had my 80 and 17 on the trailer yesterday and hauled it up one of the hills that’s a bit of a workout and it did really well. 19,950kg gross when I scaled it. As soon as I can I’ll be putting some Banks goodies on it
