Bought a black 2022 Forty-Eight four days ago. Figured since I was born in 1948 I should own one of these. It’s my 24th motorcycle I’ve been blessed with in my short 73yrs. My 5th motorcycle this year. Yeah I know, way to many. Really like this bike though. Only have 130 miles on it, but it is so numbly and feels light. Your right on about being able to turn it around in a short circumference. You can turn it on a dime and get 9 cents change. I am enjoying this bike. If I feel the need for speed I’ll ride my 2022 ZX10-R.

Had my 48 for a month now and loving it. Take a minute and set the pre-load on the rear shocks. The springs seem really stiff at first but they break in quickly. The new bike learning curve was very short and easy on it. The low end torque is great.

I have a 2013 48 I bought at the insurance auto auction, it had been stripped down to a rolling frame no Tins, lights, exhaust, tank or seat. It took me 3 years to reassemble piece by piece. Truly a win-win. 😎

Wifey just took delivery of hers, a first bike post Harley Rider Academy. Beautiful rig to be sure, but it's clear it is a "parts bin" build. Oil light illuminates at hot idle, noted with 1 mile on it. The owner manual states, however, that the if the light remains on at speed, that there's a problem. Compared to the 08' 883XL, it's just a little too clanky/clunky, as if built at the far-end of design tolerance. Problem? No, as it is fit to her inseam and reach, and she has mastered low-speed maneuvering on it; it is a solid Sporty, and she loves it, just a little sloppy.

Just brought my Sportster 48 (same color) a few weeks ago. I am a beginning/new rider. Absolutely love the look and primarily use it for in town rides. Hopefully I’ll have good luck with it. Best far one of the nicest looking bikes.

Great content, thanks. I have a question for you: Can I swap out the 2.1 peanut for a standard 3.3 on this bike? I'm looking at a 2022 forty-eight nighthawk (it's just a blacked out forty-either) but I'd like a bigger tank on it.
@ramblinjay3816

That would be awesome if that could be done. I'm looking at one of these for my first real bike. And i would rather take a smaller bike like this cross country compared to a huge house on wheels.

Yes you can, plenty have. As long as the 3.3 tank is an EFI tank.

Thanks for the video. A couple of questions: 1. Can you put the 3.3 gas tank? If yes, how much do the aesthetics of the bike change by doing so? 2. I've heard in multiple videos from other people that the first thing to do is to change the standard pipes to STAGE 1 pipe kit in order to get the real sound and feel of a HARKEY.. Why is that and why doesn't HARKEYS come with such equipment as standard? Thank you.

My bike is a 2022 same bike you are riding in this video. Ive changed the pipes and the seat and turned the mirrors up but other than that its just like the video bike 4:21 4:27

I'm new to riding. So pardon my dumb question. Am i able to put saddlebags or some sort of luggage on these? I'm really interested in the 1200 sportster and from what i heard the 48 is basically the "custom" version of one.

Something in the Softail line may fit you better but I was perfectly fine on this motorcycle and I am 6" 230LBS.. It would basically be personal preference. You should swing by a dealership and throw a leg over one.

Hey Oscar! New rider here, I’m 5’11 and 230. Just bought a 48 as my first bike (only bike I’ve ever ridden) with the forward controls I’m plenty comfortable on it! It has plenty of get up and go with me on it as well, I don’t think you’d regret your decision at all if you got one!
