Love one, cant afford one, cant maintain one. Very desirable. Thanks for showing us. Firm believer now that less power is more. U cant comfortably thrash that and get that visceral pleasure of caning a bike safely

Great review and very honest. I've got the V4s and absolutely love it, fuel consumption is always between 45/48mpg, it goes like stink (the size of it makes it feel slower!), it isn't as off roadable as my old KTM 1290 SAR, but it really is a great bike and so so so much better than a 1250GS. I tried all the adventure bikes and gave them a fair trial, before I bought the big Ducati.

Compared to the GS and the Triumph which both offer shaft drive the chain on this knocks it down a few points for long distance touring

Except for the fact that is the shaft breaks (as it seems to happen, hence the late recalls) you are dead in the water, depending where you are. A chain can be changed basically anywhere....and I have a GS...

BMW's, Ducatis and KTM's... These are all good bikes, very good bikes, the best actually but as someone who does A LOT of touring and goes on A LOT of week long or longer trips across Europe, I would most definitely not feel safe going on these long trips or anywhere more remote than 15-20 kilometers outside of the nearest town... Not because BMW's, Ducatis and KTM's are not safe, that's a non-issue on these bikes, it's more of a questionable reliability thing and their tendency to break down and have something fail quite often - which is the LAST thing you want while multi-day/multi-week long tours or ESPECIALLY adventure riding in remote areas of the country/world. These are not adventure bikes, these are road touring bikes made to look like adventure bikes - a properly engineered and made adventure bike, prioritizes reliability over tech, power, looks, other commodities and everything else. A real adventure bike should be RELIABLE before ALL ELSE! Bikes like Africa Twins, Transalps and VStroms are proper and real adventure bikes. Reliability is a complete, 100% non-issue and so is the ability to fix close to everything on these bikes, all by yourself, anywhere at any given time. The last thing you want from your bike, is to venture onto a week long ride into another country, no matter how far from home and then have the bike or something on the bike fail or break on you, no matter in what way, especially if somewhere dozens of kilometers away from the nearest town...

I traded in my 1290 for the MTS Rally a few weeks ago, but not before trying out the latest GSA. I really enjoyed the GSA and I've had several Beemers in the past, but in my opinion, the MTS is superior to both in handling, equipment and performance plus it has a 4 year warranty. With the greatest of respect, would you take the GSA or the 1290 off road? Unless you're a works team rider I suspect you wouldn't. I don't think any of the three bikes are bad and I'd be more than happy with any of them but I think that the Duke suits me better (57+ years of bikes) and I'd agree with MCN's review that it is the best Adventure bike for 2023.

Just watched the video and excellent as usual, I 100% agree I wouldn't take it off road either 20k + ouch. In my opinion these aren't really adventure bikes in the true word, I have a versys1000 (2019) that I love, its called an adventure bike but I wouldn't take it off road any more than I would a fireblade or r1. I think these are touring bikes in the 'style' of adventure bikes if that makes sense. Very comfy and capable of carrying luggage etc for big miles, comfier than a sports tourer but still plenty sporty enough to have fun. Adventure bikes are bikes that you can take up muddy tracks and through rivers and have much more off road biased tyres than on road etc. I'll stop waffling on now, keep up the good videos.

A striking machine that should fulfill all the requirements that riders of this class of motorcycle demand. For 24k? I would hope so! For me, however, it's just another, 'bike with a beak'. (Just mo.) Sorry, but that front? Reminds me of Sam the Eagle from The Muppets. Beaky!🤭

With me, I had the same impressions. I tried this bike prior to make my decision and in the end I went for the GSA and I’m very pleased with the decision I made. I couldn’t go for the KTM for reliability personal history that unfortunately happened with my SDGT, but until I decided I went to the Ducati dealership and had this bike for a riding test. I must say, that this is a very photogenic bike. It looks better in filming and video than in real life. Can’t explain it better but that was what I felt . Which is the opposite result that occurred with the BMW GSA. The feeling that I got from riding both bikes is very different and with a significant leverage to the GSA. Thank you for the video that for me meant confirmation of my thoughts on this particular machine.👌🏻

Nice review, just got this bike myself and think its almost perfect, would change the horrible hard plastic grips for something soft and grippy, tuck in the exhaust side pannier at least an inch inward and last buy not least lower suspension travel to 7 inches on both ends instead of 8 as 90% of these will not go hardcore off-roading as bike is too expensive to crash. Motor is very smooth once over 3,000 rpm as cylinder deactivation makes it rough/vibrates at low rpms. The 8 gallon tank is most welcome and wish it was offered on regular V4S. Bike handles amazing and feels 100 pounds lighter than it is once in motion, looks great with aluminum panniers but not so great without as big frame is not so easy to remove, overall very happy with bike and makes a great replacement for my 2019 Multi 1260s😎
