Our supporters and volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. Together, we've achieved extraordinary milestones, like cycling an incredible 204,000 kilometres at the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle.
On our National Fundraising Day, streets across the country came alive with over 1,000 volunteers passionately collecting and contributing to the success of Breakthrough.
Our commitment to making a real impact doesn't end with fundraising and events. Over 50 dedicated individuals on our Public and Patient Involvement panel, actively contribute their insights to discern if research proposals will have a genuine impact for people with cancer. They are integral decision-makers, ensuring that the research we undertake is not only ground-breaking but also meaningful and relevant to people directly affected by cancer.
2023 saw 250 people attend Cancer Research Showcase Tours in Dublin and Cork, witnessing first-hand the impact of their support on ground-breaking projects.
Over half a million kilometres were covered during four virtual challenges, demonstrating the commitment and boundless dedication of our supporters.
Embarking on uncharted paths and a testament to the adventurous spirit of our supporters, we covered nearly 4000 kilometres in our inaugural trek of the Camino.
And in a powerful show of support, over 800 people sponsored a scientist, enabling them to push the boundaries of cancer research.
