I am 186cm tall and it fits me perfectly. I absolutely love this bike. I bought mine in another town and rode it 400km home. It is so easy to drive. Clutch is very good and easy to use. Suspension is very good. Better than most would think. I ride allot on shitty mountain roads and frost damaged patched roads here in West Norway. I tried a tenere world raid on the same roads and it was so horrible on that bike compared to my transalp. Even my cb500x is better then the T7. Throttle is very light on resistance compared to other throttles i have tried on other brands. So you will not get worn out by riding on long tours. This bike has blown me away. As mentioned it is very easy to ride. Highspeeds. And even the low speed in city traffic driving is better on the transalp then on my cb500x witch surprised me.

I like the look of the new Transalp but tubed tyres are less than ideal on tour. One puncture and you are totally dependent on a tow truck who won’t fix it for you but cart you off to a dealer who may be very busy and put you at the end of the queue.😮
@Geshmaal
Жыл бұрын
Or totally dependent upon a tyre lever and a spare inner tube or a patch kit. It is certainly more work but people fix punctured tubes out in the wild on a regular basis. What's far worse IMO is Suzuki shipping bikes with one tubed tyre and one tubeless - worst of both worlds!

Ι have test drove this model for a full day. Great engine. The only negatives are 1). The fuel indicator seriously suck. No miles remaining display and the 6 brick display is very dispropotional the real fuel quantity. 2). 65% on road, 35% off road bike. You judge if this OK for you. 3). The bike in the basic version looks cheap but don't have hand guards, bash plate, quick shifter etc etc.... 4). Suspension could be full adjustable and not special key required to adjust the preload.

No cruise control and tubed tyres isn't going to be popular with it's intended road touring, GS/AT market. Don't pretend it's designed for off-road. This is NOT an off-road bike and won't be on the radar for real adventure riders. It's acceptable for a weekend trip to Costa with a goretex jacket but that's it. Opportunity missed Honda!

I do like that bike, I may be wrong but I don't think they are available in Canada yet. 90 hp is enough for any bike, especially when it weighs 208 kg. Hopefully, it will come to Canada, as this may convince me to trade my 1200RT. I am a fan of the Tracer but their prices are crazy now. Anyhoo, thanks for the video.

Confused....isn't the bike suppose to have some off-road ability? All the reviews that I'm seeing are done on the road. Why is this bike any different than the CB500X? The exhaust is highly exposed, not protected by the frame, only 16.9 liters (insufficient for adventure motorcyclist), suspension not adjustable. I was hoping for a smaller version of the Africa Twin and we. got another CB500X instead. So much for it being an adventure bike. Honda missed it.

Big Rock Moto has 5-6 vids on the bike. He really puts it through the paces on and off road. The bike can do 90% of what other bikes KTM 890\tiger 900\T7 etc. The consenus from a lot of folks is add cruise and tubeless tires to the standard stuffs you can add bars and skid plate and most will be all set. It’s a sub $10k bike.

The Africa Twin 1000 is same....it will rocket up to 90 no bother....it is more dangerous than a BMW S1000RR.........because....you don't even realise you're doing the speed as the screen blocks nearly all wind and you come to a corner far too fast if you're not careful....on a S1000RR you're always aware of the speed. The AT is probably one of the best all-round bikes out there....but I'd choose the BMW....pure sex appeal.....the James May fizz.

I sold my 2014 GSA for an ATAS DCT ES and didn’t like the riding position. The GSA seat to peg height was more and the pegs set further back. It was a slouchy position for me and got my back. Also the seat was hard, not KTM hard, and not as comfortable as the GSA. I have an 890 Adventure which is excellent other than the seat comfort. That said, the Transalp might be the better compromise.

In my opinion, all 21” wheels have pros and cons and they’re situation dependent. In one situation you’re glad to have it, in another you’re not and, for the most part, it’s benign. Best to do an inventory on how and where the bike will be used to determine if the 21”ers are needed just for show, or if you need them to go.

@@Croth4r Well for me it definitely has to have shaft drive and cruise plus it has to be able to potter around at slow speed as easily as blasting down the highway and be comfortable. So as someone else mentioned a Guzzi, BMW GS or RT, maybe even the Goldwing, if weight is not an issue. For me however, when I was faced with this problem last year, I decided on the BMW RS. Not too heavy, or expensive and fulfils all my other needs perfectly.
