Thanks for the XR tips, first thing I did was take off that ugly warning sticker set off the gas tank, saw no need for those to age with the bike!

I did the 115 main jet, gutted out the spark arrestor and on the airbox cover there is a plastic insert that has the three separate intake tubes. That piece can pop out and it leaves a pretty decent size opening and since the filter is also screwed in, I'm not worried about debris getting into the motor. My Buell XB-12 had an intake tube that was also restricted in the same way and when I removed that it made a huge difference. Originally I completely removed the spark arrestor but, I thought it was too loud for me. Since you need the spark arrestor to put the end cap on I bought a spare one and gutted out the original and cut down the exhaust tip to open it up just a little. Although there are kits on E-Bay now to attach the end cap on w/out the arrestor. Yoshimura is taking pre-orders on a slip on that only goes from the mid point to the silencer but, they want $500 so that is a little steep. I'm pretty much between sea level and 60 ft and it starts easy and I notice a nice difference in the power throughout the rev range. I can actually hear if/when I hit the rev limiter now, lol. I read another thread where someone mentions going down one tooth on the front sprocket helps cruising in 5th. I think going down one in front is about the same as going up two on the rear.

if you add fuel you need to add air / flow at some point - ie larger exhaust

Yup, I did mine in reverse order, installed an exhaust kit (meant for a 2003-2013 crf150f) and about to rejet to 115 (waiting on the kit to arrive this week). I'm at under 500 foot elevation. Hoping that's at least a good starting point.

Didn't see a link. Is this the factory carb for 2014 CRF and what throttle cable did you use?

Did you have to change the intake manifold boot ? To fit the 26mm crf carb? Thanks

no, it fit perfectly. the throttle cable was the only thing that had to be changed. in hindsight I think I may have had issues with vacuum lines

When Honda decided to go after the Amazon Bikes sold in the USA they had to throttle down the air/fuel to beat Cali emissions or so I believe....lol, I appreciate the video as I'm still trying to decide? peace

So does anyone know if a "SmartCarb" or any of the electronic carbs work on this bike? I'm curious?

Isn't their a pilot adjustment screw covered by plug. Have pulled plug from other bikese and opened some if on fuel side or closed some if on air side . Don't know if that carb has adjustment screw

yes there is and yes it does have a plug, I drilled the plug out I'm guess what was waiting for me, A blob of brass on top of the screw, no slot at all

Bigger carb works for big bore and big cam shaft upgrade. The emission junk restricts you some too just FYI. When you buy a new carb you might have to rejet and adjust the float and needle. I had the same issue my float needed to be adjusted. I tried all sizes of jets and fuel mixtures, and nothing got better untill i adjusted float. The bike can do better than stock.

So SSShop. Is in the final stages of a big bore kit , a 222cc. Cyl. a 28mm. carb . So without a cam . testing achieved a incredible 16.8 wheel hp. Gaining incredible torque down low in the rpm. range rpm. Top rpm should be improved with a new cam . This will transform this bike into no doubt the best value brand name bike . I have read that this bike costs a mere 9 cents a mile total expenses . (stock) . It's no wonder that 10's of thousands have been sold . I can only ask honda give us the XR190L or the XRE300 to stop me from drooling as I am just giddy riding the XR150L . My other bikes are the Honda Navi a GL1800 and a 230 suzuki quad . My pride and joy a 1970 GTO CONVERTIBLE with over 1/2 million miles . This is not fuel efficient car as it spits raw fuel out the exhaust . But it's sure pretty . I am blessed.

You should have brought a Hawk if you wanted to work on it, the Honda xr 150l should have been left alone, and left original, that is how it will work the best, just my 2 cents.
