Thanks for all the helpful videos! Question, how much of a mark up out the door would be reasonable for the XR150L. Went to a dealer near me and they were trying to say out the door would be $5,300 and would only go down to $4,700. That sounded like a high mark uph from a $2,971 msrp. Was that reasonable or were they trying to play me?

They are new bikes to the USA and most all dealers will get what they can in there area right now. That’s pretty normal I guess. Question is: What is it worth to you right now and can you find one for that somewhere? If you can, then go get it. We wish they were $2,971 OTD also but that’s just not the way it is. Good luck finding one 👍🏼

Yes, we plan to do some jet testing soon. We did however want to leave them “stock” for a little bit to do some “stock” jet testing in the real world first. We have our first real outing soon so stay tuned…

Would you know what's a good fit for a plastic fuel tank with the XR150?
@MishMashMoto
Жыл бұрын
I don’t for sure but the CRF150F and CRF230F tank might work.

Was your fuel tank empty when you took the fuel line off?

No, probably quarter or half tank. Turn the petcock off though.

The lighting in the shop wasn't done at the time so we did that outside for better video quality. It was risky but worked out.

this is just a smaller version of the Chinese hawk 250 or tbr7. they are as identical as can be from a construction standpoint.

From what I can tell the quality of the components is where the difference is between them (such as a genuine Keihin carburetor etc.). While the parts for this bike are sourced globally through a joint venture between Sundiro and Honda, it is assembled in Mexico. So far the quality seams to be very good on these bikes. Time will tell the whole story though…

@@MishMashMoto i have a 2017 hawk 250, and this disassembly video you have here is spot on with the hawk 250. i did replace the carb on mine in order to be able to rejet it more easily. i cant speak to the quality of the honda, because i havent seen one in person yet, but i know they have high standards over at honda. it would be nice to see a side by side compare of the two.
@MishMashMoto

@@rozzbourn3653 I agree a side by side comparison would be nice. I am sure we will bump into a Hawk, TBR7, or a Magician soon enough on the road.

@@MishMashMoto thanks I’m dying to get one just been watching all reviews. I’m not really willing to pay over msrp though so idk if I will end up with one . $2,995 is a really good deal I believe

So is your model a 4valve after all? Cylinder head looks differerent from ours, I guess.
@MishMashMoto

The XR150L is a 2 valve engine (despite the early specs saying otherwise). Please see our other video for the proof on this debate.

You will love this bike then! It’s like working on a 80’s XR simple. That was one of the main reasons we bought them ourselves. Price and being street legal were the other main ones.
