Cool video. I remember Houston traffic when I lived there, the good all Texan days. I am waiting for my Ionic 5 to arrive and I can’t wait to test this feature and others and of course test the awesome acceleration of an EV.

I like the look of this better than the Tesla. Here you have an instrument cluster that can be devoted to driving information which may or may not show the cars around you. On the Tesla you have the left third of the screen permanently devoted to showing the traffic and I’d like it to just show infotainment information most of the time. I test drove a Tesla and I found I didn’t mind having the speed over on the main screen but I still prefer having a separated instrument cluster that means the center screen doesn’t have to do everything..

The S and X have separate instrument clusters. But I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want the Tesla traffic visualization, especially the FSDb version. I would argue that and the self driving functionality are a Tesla’s most distinguishing features. No other car comes close in either regard.

I have a 2023 Ioniq 5 AWD Limited with head-up display, which I love. It looks like this car has a head-up display, too, but the graphics are on the panel instead of on the windshield. I think that my car offered that ONE TIME but ever since all I can get is the Head up display to show traffic around me. Maybe it was removed during an OTA last month? Or is there a trick to turn the Head-up off and display the same info on the panel? If anyone knows the trick, please post the answer! Thanks much.

It works great, but indeed every 30 seconds my 2023 ioniq 5 beeps to keep my hands on the steering Weel.

That should depend on the road type (highway etc) and certain other conditions like if there is a car in front which the Ioniq can use as a reference. In those cases it can actually go for a few minutes

How does it do changing lanes, making left and right hand turns and at traffic lights and stop signs?

It doesn’t do any of that. Also this guy is getting mixed up between Tesla’s 3 levels of self driving. He mentioned it would cost 10k+ to get the same self driving capabilities as Ioniq5, I laughed because the 10k is for the FULL self driving feature that does EVERYTHING you’re talking about that ioniq5 CANNOT do. Then there’s the ENHANCED autopilot which costs 6k which gives: Navigate on Autopilot Auto Lane Change Autopark Summon Smart Summon Then there’s the STANDARD autopilot which comes with tesla basic option at no additional cost and does exactly what you see in this video. What’s nice about tesla is that you can subscribe to get the FULL self driving with a flick of your finger and costs 200USD/mo (100USD/mo if you have ENHANCED autopilot), i heard subscription can be good especially if thinking of trading swapping for different tesla cars because a subscription can transfer to your next tesla car, but if you make a hard purchase for self driving, it stays with that car, doesn’t transfer. Plus FULL self driving is still technically in beta, in my opinion, people shouldn’t buy into something that hasn’t been finalized, especially since Tesla is constantly changing things around like removing sensors, adding more cameras, etc. they haven’t found the “Goldilocks” configuration that would effectively and efficiently operate FULL self driving properly. I would only buy if they have a finalized configuration AND it gets released from beta. Source: Hyundai Ioniq5 website

It appears from the video that you have 89 miles of range at 41% battery. That translates to only about 182 miles of range at 100%. Is that actually what you're getting? Because that sucks compared to the advertised range of that car.

@@danielnewell1329 it's called Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) that a lot of auto manufacturers have that helps keep the car in the lane and steers accordingly. Autopilot is just a fancy word for adaptive cruise control with the LKA. Autopilot is not like FSD where it can recognize stop signs and traffic lights and stop for you.

Self driving is a nice feature, but with our dated highway systems. I'm not a fan of using that feature. I am a big fan of adaptive cruise having it on my 2017 Ford Edge Sport and my 2018 Chrysler 300C 5.7. I prefer having my hands on the steering wheel because I enjoy driving the my vehicles . From an observation. Being the first time seeing the infotainment screens in Ionic5. The driver info screen reminds me of a square plastic box. Just an opinion, but not impressive.
