What the hell? Second gear gets you over 60mph? Thats crazy!

I have this exact Jeep in Earl Grey and it definitely makes a great second vehicle, it's peppy and the six-speed gearbox is a blast to drive. The short wheelbase makes it very maneuverable on the trail or around town. Comfort is relative, you can adapt to just about anything. As far as safety, it's a Jeep not a sedan, drive accordingly.

Explain 2nd vehicle please 😂 I am tempting to get one as my daily
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
Жыл бұрын
It could be your daily as long as you know what you’re getting into and the compromises aren’t going to make you regret the decision or if your life situation is likely to change soon. Otherwise, in my opinion, it feels like an enthusiast vehicle. Not something I would want to daily drive at this point in life. If I was in college, retired, or another situation it would be easier to justify as my only vehicle. I hope this helps. 🙂

I’m about ready to pull the trigger on a 23 Willys. Let’s face it, for a “ practical “ vehicle, this is not , but compared to my ‘04 TJ, this thing is like a Cadillac. I am finding many ‘23 Jeeps being traded back in with as little as 2k-7k miles on them. Many consumers don’t know what they are getting into when buying a Wrangler, but those of us who are fully aware of it, appreciate the capability. As the motto goes, there is only one Jeep.

I had a v6 Wrangler Rubicon. It has loud cabin noise and if you don’t fold the rear seat up you won’t fit much in the back. It felt dangerous on the highway at 70mph. My wife hit sprinkler water on a corner and she fishtailed the jeep three times before she got it straight. After that I sold it. These are not built to be daily drivers, although you can do that. These are off road rock climbing vehicles. If you drive careful on the street and can deal with wheel wander, bad MPGs and the other things mentioned you will probably love it.

I believe the stick is disappearing next year with the 2024 3rd gen refresh. But currently you can get a Base or Premium model with a manual! 🙂 I’ve driven and reviewed one. It was slow but oh so fun, lol. That also was in part due to the aftermarket exhaust it had.

I wanna get this in Firecracker Red. I think more incentives are coming next month since Jeep sales are down 20% year over year and the Wrangler sales are down 17%. It is an iconic ride. I like the bare bones aspect of this Jeep as a Jeep should be. The rad part is taking the doors off, top off for the perfect beach day ride. I would stick with the V6 as that seems to be the most reliable powertrain. I love the fact it now comes standard with AC and finally CarPlay. Probably only two real luxuries you need for this kind of all terrain vehicle. Soft top is a must. If getting the hard top, well that will never come off lol.

Can you please explain how does the Trac-Lock - Limited Slip Rear Differential works on the Willys vs the regular lock system differential that the Rubicons have? nobody has been able to answer me that question.. thanks in advance.
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
Жыл бұрын
I apologize I’m not a Jeep expert, I hope to review more in the future and become more familiar with the platform. But currently I don’t have first hand experience in their different locker/differential set ups and gear ratios. I hope someone who knows can answer your question. Best of luck, and thank you for watching! 🙂
@paultruesdale7680

This limited slip is automatic. When there is a difference of rotation between the two rear wheels the clutch engages the differential so that both wheels rotate together and once the throttle is reduced the clutch disengages and the differential is open again.

Chrysler products have the stereotype of having a lot of electrical issues, so this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, in addition to making that one less connection and weight reduction for removing the doors. If I remember correctly I believe the Bronco window switches are in front of the center console. 🙂 the FW would definitely be an easier to live with option for mostly on road driving. But the Wrangler can go places off road the FW probably couldn’t dream of. 😛

Why don't you like the tires? Manual transmissions are useless off road. The fabric top flaps at highway speed and leaks rain. Don't roll it over. No roll bar of any kind. A crappy death trap!

BF Goodrich A/T tires are excellent off-road. They are a little slick when new, but after a few miles and aired down they really grip the rocks.
