If only the Philippines had this kind of technology, we wouldn't have to suffer very expensive rice.

It’d be cool if you put on the screen the average speed the x9 can run in the rice with the header width also on the screen. We run s780s with 30ft heads and can run about 2.5 mph in standing hybrid rice and closer to 3mph in conventional rice

If you know how fast the x9 runs in the rice?

No kidding! Looking at the X9 compared to the S series it looks like the X9 does pretty good, ground speed at least.

Thanks, yep I'm talking to a farmer right now to see if I can go see some corn harvest! What's even better is that they're running a Claas combine which I've never seen before.

In Louisiana, does the climate ever allow a double crop of rice in one season? Just asking as it was mentioned on a Texas rice harvest video I watched today, that some farmers can sow rice again for harvest in late October/early November

Yes there are usually second crops for rice, farmers back in my hometown are waiting on the second crop right now. Just north of Lafayette

Great Video. -- Looks odd with Tractors on 8 tyres and the Combines on Tracks, - lovely to see the 'White Birds' back. - I think the 'Growing Time' depends on whether they plant the rice as seeds or as ready grown small plants about 4"" high like they do a lot in Taiwan & Japan. I think it takes about 6 to 8 months to grow to maturity - am I right or not.?

I hear tractors with tracks don't do as well in sloppy conditions.. We plant rice over here sometime around late March I believe, and harvest starts mid July. We plant with seeders or some by plane occasionally.

@@AerialAg Thank-you for that reply, - It looks as if I've got to eat my words on growing times. If it grows so fast in your Country can't they 'double crop' it.?

@@christopherlovelock9104 Sure, many farms cut a second crop in October. Some don't since growing a second crop of rice can have a negative impact on the crawfish they raise in the same fields.

@@AerialAg Oh yes, I was forgetting that some farms regard 'crawfish' as a 2nd crop and 'farm' them as such on purpose. - Does the 'crawfish' season last any longer.?
