Liked seeing all the cool built not bought, rigs. The front mounted cam was a pretty good view. Might have to get you an apprentice who can double as a camera man. And most of all, it was nice to see someone finally make a set of thornbirds get decent traction! Lol

They are under-rated. Quirky, but under-rated. Except for the early Ranger and BroncoII. Those Dana 28's are just flat out flimsy

I know cameras don’t translate well how steep something is, but even on camera some of this stuff looked brutal! That crawl over the concrete culvert was also really impressive. I thought you’d high center for sure 👍

The trick for me was getting the rear driveshaft to fit into the gap between the two sections of culvert

This is making me want to rebuild my dads bronco plow truck. To not only have a good plow truck but something off road capable. Also I want to explorer 4wd swap my ranger one day

@@misfittoys8883 we have two of them, one is severely rotten and the other we bought wrecked and used as a plow truck. It was wrecked off road wheeling I presume because it looked like a boulder bashed in the steering. As well as the holes from old lightbars. they are newer that most of the ones on your channel. Ones a 92 and the others a 93. Both have the 5.8 liter and 4wd but the one I’m fixing has the manual shifter for the t-case

@@misfittoys8883 even though my dad doesn’t want to make it road legal I’m building it as if it’s gonna be road legal because we have the title and all the parts to fix it, so I’m gonna give it a good try. But the old plow from it isn’t going back on, it really sacked out the twin traction beam front end. Which is why I’m taking the goon parts from the rotten one. Once I realized that the old trucks floor was just carpet, it just wasn’t worth trying, it was too far gone. The salt belt killed it

I’d have to say that the new camera mount definitely gave me a little bit of motion sickness for sure!!! Maybe try putting two different ones off the sides of the body facing forward with one on each side!!! I think that would definitely be better than the one out front facing backwards for sure!! I’m not sure why that one on the new mount that you had out front made me sick but it did!! Hey I was wondering if you still have that warm winch that you had picked up and if you was still saving that 203 T case for me??? I’m still interested in both for sure!!!
@misfittoys8883

Only have one go pro. I am really avoiding hanging it off the side because it will get whammied pretty quick hanging out the side, or instantly get hammered with debris coming off a tire. Still have the Warn and the 203. You got a rig to wheel? If so, hows about coming out with us next time?

Oh and I might have a couple carburetors that you might be interested in also??? They are propane carburetors that was once on a 400 sbc!! What axle shaft did the Chevy Dana60 break?? I might have an extra but I do want to save one extra for myself!! I did have 8 Dana60 but had a guy from fort dodge buy one from me last summer!!! They are definitely becoming harder and harder to find it seems!!! Let me no witch axle he broke and I’ll see if I have an extra one or not???

Definitely would be interested in taking a look at the propane setups. I don't really need any at the moment but I always buy them just to have when I find them at swap meets if they are cheap. He said he broke the drivers side stub shaft insinde the spindle

One hell of a rig you built. That thing is an off-road beast. Some of the more technical stuff was made to look easy. Never got into wheeling, how do you keep oil in the pump while climbing and descending? I liked the front mount camera!
@misfittoys8883
Жыл бұрын
Not much you can do about the oil going where gravity takes it. At least with a rear sump pan there should be a supply of oil when climbing, unless it is a REALLY steep one.
@paulweigle6872

Almost seems like a fab genius could make an enclosed chamber around the pickup to hold the oil for such an occasion.
