Erin is very brave! I would have found some day trip or shopping errands to get me away while they worked!!!

You might consider putting a vent with a fan in the side of that cabinet to keep all the electronics up there from overheating. If that door is closed in the summer, your AC won't get in there so that cabinet will be warmer anyway, then with the electronics the space will heat even more.

Certainly worth monitoring the temperature of that cabinet and then using a little fan to cool it off if necessary.

I don't think I could ever put a hole in my roof.

It’s a little nerve wracking at first, but as long as you understand how to properly seal around where the hole is… it’s all good.

*Pushes glasses up on his nose* - "You know you shouldn't cut towards your arteries and stuff" How'd I do!? Good work guys! Looks good and looks like it's not going anywhere for a while! Drilling in that roof had me biting my knuckles a bit.

A trick to finding the metal framing in your ceiling and walls is to use a thermal camera. If it's hot outside and cool inside or cold outside and hot inside, the areas where your framing is will transfer more heat/cold. What this means is if it is winter and cold outside, look at the ceiling with a thermal camera and you'll see a grid where the ceiling is a little cooler. That's where the framing is a little less unsulative than the rest of the roof, so that's the framing. Of course if the weather is mild this may not work, but you can always just crank up the heat or AC inside to an uncomfortable level until you can see where the heat differential is.

@@triphius It works from both directions. If the weather is cold, turn the heat up for an hour or so. From inside you can see a 'cold' grid, from the outside you can see a 'warm' grid. 😁

I'm not sure why people with starlink don't get an extension pole and attach it to the RV ladder to get above the trees. Hams do it all the time to get a higher antenna position. Just need a couple U brackets to connect. There should be one that can handle the weight of either Starlink dish. Or am nuts and over thinking this? DISCLAIMER!!!! DISCLAIMER!!!! DISCLAIMER!!!! DISCLAIMER!!!! DISCLAIMER!!!! I'm not a full time RVer, so I don't know all the ins and outs, just trying to get it straight in my head why you need multiple cell carriers and internet etc. Ben is obviously a true technical guru.... Who give a rats which way the knife is pointed as long as what your trying to cut gets cut, anything else should have been there to begin with😂.... Tech in it's purest form.

People put their Starlink dishes on ladder mounts all the time. I don't want to because I want the flexibility of putting mine anywhere I need to in order to avoid trees. Everyone kinda figures out their own preferences for setting this kind of stuff up over time.
