To clarify, the 3000 ml label capacity cast in the engine cover is for the engine crankcase only oil capacity. Add a filter and you get to the 3.7qt (3500ml) capacity.

Thanks Brother! Oil change was easy peasy, no assistance needed, then I started wandering around the display to find a “reset button” to no avail. Got on KZitem and quickly found your vid. I started fast forwarding and saw you took the seat off?! I’m thinking “really, the seat off for an oil change?”. Ha ha! Now I understand and really appreciate it, thank you again. I'm sorry for the late reply. I just unplugged mine again and it comes off easily. You have to depress the side of the plug on the clutch side of the bike, then pull towards the front of the bike. I hope it works for you.

Question to jump or short DLC connector right on tiny hole is just to avoid ruining the rectangle holes where scan tool connector plugs in, wondering if both tiny holes have continuity to rectangle holes I mean whether are same wires or not

I don't think the rectangular holes are affiliated with the very small round holes above them.

The jumper wire? I just used a piece of CAT5 solid wire. I had an old Cat5 cable left over from some long gone electronic device. I just a small piece of that and keep a handful of the strands in my tank bag, plus one wrapped around the wire on the plug accessed in the video.

@erasmonieves3785 I took the top plate off my ‘18 650 XT (givi PL3112). The bolt pattern matches but the support braces do not so I made my own using 5/8 hr mild tube I bought at the big box store. Honestly, I would just wait for Givi or one of the others to come out with theirs for the 800 - it shouldn’t be much longer.

@due51outdoors
Жыл бұрын
I’ve read on StromTrooper.com that someone needed to adjust their headlight. Mine was fine. The vibration is there but really not something that would prevent me from buying this bike. If you’re buying this bike for long distance, highway touring exclusively, then yes - I imagine the constant buzz would get annoying. But for doing some on-road/off-road exploring, and typical daily riding, the buzz is an afterthought.

@@due51outdoorsYours cannot be "fine" and none "adjustment" will help because the solution used by Suzuki in this model: there is an unlit space between the motorcycle and the illuminated zone. The shape of light is also specific and it can be annoying in the curvs. You can check that searching for 800 DE night ride. "Adventure" bike should have better lights.

There is definitely some heat coming off the engine (mostly the right side). It’s most prevalent in stop & go traffic on hot days, obviously. At speed, it’s nothing problematic.

First, thanks for this video. I’ve done a few oil changes on my 800de and have used this method each time. I had an interesting discovery when doing an oil change today. I’m at 5,100 miles and the system wouldn’t let me set the next service mileage beyond 7,500 miles. I tried a few times to set it beyond 7,500. I even disconnected & reconnected the battery, no joy. I guess I’ll just ride until 7,500 and push it forward then. Have you run into this?
