For 3 years after that, the timing chain could snap, oil leaks spring up, the windshield could leak & the electrics fail…..i know three people, two with a velar and one with a discovery, riddled with problems and even a leaking windshield….dont get me wrong, nice car. But only designed to work properly during the first three years during leasing so land rover can profit from the depreciation, then for the poor guy thinking he can snag a deal three years on, land rover will continue to profit, charging 1000s for “repairs”.

Range Rovers are great. I drive a Range Rover Evoque for 8 years and it is still going strong after 85,000km. May I am lucky to get a quality built without issues.

If I could have given you 20 likes I would have. Nice and well-filmed video, and your candor and honesty was refreshing. I am in the market for a 2020 or 2021 Velar or same year Macan or a MB GLC-300 coupe (pref AMG). I have a beautiful 2022 bmw x4 m40i (not a pure M, but m40i is pretty fast). It is paid off and I am looking to sell to get some cash in my bank and to purchase one of the cars mentioned above with the difference. I work from home so I don't even do a whole lot of driving, what I want is something that makes me feel similar to what I feel like when driving my x4 and one that will be pretty reliable. The cost of maintenance is something I am willing to pay for so my car will continue to run without too many issues.

I use my Velar as a daily commute to and from work. Didn’t need the top Range Rover and didn’t want the cheapest. It’s comfortable and gets the job done stylishly and elegantly. Once the weekend comes, that’s when I hop in my 911. 😈

I will say, the Velar is my absolute favorite Rover. It is so sleek, and beautiful on the outside. Without that V8 though, I wouldn’t buy it. Again, big fan of the design. This is a car that can be beaten by my Passat in this configuration, but I think despite that, it’s a way nicer car. You’re right. It does look ahead of it’s time. I like how simplistic the interior looks, yet it’s so helpful in providing a nice, reserved experience. As you know, here at Speed Labs, and at Noble Vengeance, we don’t give a shit about luxury. Just performance. And this thing does not have the performance I’d look for. That’s the one downside. But I think, this is a better deal than buying the base model Cayenne from Porsche. It’s nicer, both are slow. Thanks for reviewing this one. My favorite rover.

I personally wouldn't even mind the P340 or 400 as a daily. The P250 is just a kids toy IMO.

The most unreliable luxury car on the planet, yet they still cant get it right, almost like its intentional. If they cant design reliable engines, then maybe they should just throw in mercedes or bmw engines. As far as looks, they definitely look good.

I feel that Jaguars and Range Rovers are forbidden fruit. Not in the same way that a well-kept, completely stock Skyline GT-R is, but instead due to JLR’s notoriously bad reliability. Sure, they may have gotten their engines and transmissions sorted out, but the electronics? Good luck with those. It’s a shame, too. Land Rovers and Jaguars are some of the best looking cars in their class at their price points.
