So, how many GTS owners will trade for a ‘23 just to change colors? Fashion Statement?

@@YouMotorcycle Oh my. I first got kind of excited about a Vespa when HPE came out but at almost ten grand out the door with a few needed accessories, it occurred to me the extra couple of horsepower over an older one wasn’t that important. Instead, I paid $2,400 for a 2007 GTV250. It has cost me nearly as much in dealer maintenance, registration and insurance over 3 years and 7k miles but I know what I have now and the GTV is sort of unique. 65 mpg is nice but don’t let anyone tell you a Vespa is economical to own and operate. State Farm Insurance is reasonable but cost per mile has been far more than my cars.

@@Diap842IV I have one or two reviews of the GTS 300 I basically conclude that if I were looking to buy one I would do exactly what you did and find a used 250 instead, preferably with low kilometers. I'm surprised and sorry to hear about your maintenance issues though. I have 30,000 km on my Vespa S (LX) and it is trouble free in the two years I've owned it. What issues have you had with your GTV?

@@YouMotorcycle It has been completely reliable actually. It had only a couple of recent service records so I decided to bring it on to the schedule, doing Coolant change, new belt, and a rear tire. Had bad luck picking up nails. Got 200 miles out of the City Grip rear. Giant nail went right up the center! Lol. $150 spent there. A couple thousand miles later another nail went in rear. This one was deep in the groove so we plugged it and it’s held up. These days I don’t do my own maintenance anymore and I’m very grateful to have the famous “Robot” shop within easy reach. Jobs are done right each time but everything adds up. The bike has 34,000 miles. Runs perfectly. During my custodianship, it has needed clutch, and variator work. It was my choice to do belt and “whatever it needed” to get on schedule. Will replace both tires soon. It’s reliable, just costlier than my car per mile. No complaints.

I like the wheels, I’m gonnna stick with my white 2022 hpe 300 in as I think it stays cleaner looking longer for commuting and paint may be easier to match if I damage it hey.
