Sheeeet! I have always enjoyed the appearance of the XSR900, definitely one of my finalists. I have been stuck on four poppers since the early 80's and this is one of the first x3 cylinders I am not afraid to step off with. I currently ride a very small commuter bike, but my last real motorcycle was a 2003 Yamaha FZ1. I rode it for 16 years. Back then I was more hung up on performance, but as I am getting older now, and ridden more slow bikes, its becoming less of an issue for me. My basic finalists are Suzuki Katana, KawiZ900RS, this and the MT. I am going to take my time and look at all aspects of each until I descend into madness, LOL. Great video, Very sharp camera, and you pointing out the details was a great addition too. So many times people just gloss over and focus on things that dont help sell the bike. Yamaha fan from waaaaay back.

Great to hear! Looking at your final choices, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those. However, you know what my choice would be out of those. Appreciate the feedback and so glad to hear the video was helpful to you. That’s the whole point of these videos is to help others and share. Thank you again for the support, greatly appreciated! A lot more XSR content coming soon.

It is an absolutely awesome bike. Aftermarket seat alternatives are out there (Corbin, Kelpi Customs), windscreens, exhausts, ECU flashes, etc. High tech rider aids with ABS, traction and lift control, stock cruise control, quick shifter up and down, and the unique CP3 engine. Every single time I ride it gets looks and compliments!

I had not heard of Kelpi Customs yet so thank you for that lead! We’ve been maybe considering the Rizoma seat but it’s very expensive. It’s about $1000. Sure is a sweet bike. Certainly some improvements which can be made but I totally agree with you. Especially when considering the MSRP on these, they are tough to beat. Thanks for watching and thanks again for that lead on the Kelpi Customs seat.

Keep the exhaust under the bike. No exhaust has to stop the rear wheel view.

Very nice looking bike. If I were shopping in this segment I’d probably go GSX-S1000 because they’re stupidly underpriced but this is the best looking in its class.

Totally agree. GSX is a heck of a deal but the XSR is so unique.

I sold my GSXS1000 a few months ago in order to buy a 2022 XSR900. They are not really comparable motorcycles despite "about" the same price, because they handle and feel so different. The GSXS isn't a very good street bike; it's more akin to a racebike with super tall gearing. The XSR900 is much more of an easy-going street bike that's lighter but has slower heavier stable steering. Power-wise, the XSR900 is fast but the GSXS's speed is impound-bike territory. For me, the GSXS was too much bike whereas the XSR has a much more of a roadster with luggage vibe. Both have exceptionally low insurance rates (I buy bikes based heavily on insurance rates, by the way) but the XSR900's is a bit lower than the GSXS's. People are not really treating either of these bikes as sportbikes but more like fast cruisers or slow standards. By contrast the MT-09, which is practically the same motorcycle, is more than double the insurance.

All good points. Thank you sharing your perspective. It always adds value when you are sharing from a position of experience owning both the GSX and now the XSR. Sounds like you are really enjoying that XSR and have made the right decision for your use purpose.

That’s a tough call man. Both the XSR and the R7 are cool bikes. I would say the XSR is a little more unique. Have you looked at both in person yet? Hey man I really appreciate the positive feedback. I try to be as informative as possible without being pushy or a jerk. Thank you again for all your support, they’ll be a lot more XSR content coming down the pipeline.

Haha! To be honest I agree with you. I have no idea why they put a mailbox for a seat. Switching the seat out is definitely on the list of to-do’s. Thanks man.
