How would you compare X7 to S8? They seem to have same underfoot and similar radius. Thanks in advance!

The S is the higher build quality--more like a race ski.

X7 or Q7?

If you're a fan of crisp and spicy turns, I'd go X7. For more of a moderate approach, Q7 is a smoother option.

Looking for a fun carving ski.... currently have fischer RC One 86 (heavy but fun).... and Salmon 84 stance which is light and nice but want more performance carving frontside East Coast ... this ski sounds pretty good .... thoughts?

You could look into the Redster q9/9.8 or blizzard r15 Redster being a little wider for easy stability

Nice short radius carver right here! It's a bit more mobile than the X9 with carbon instead of steel, so you are getting a mix of short turn and high energy. In that ~70mm range, you could also check out the Blizzard Thunderbird R13 or the Stockli Laser SX. Have fun!

Thanks for the great in depth reviews.. I’m considering either the X7 or Q7. I’m skiing Volkl Supersport 5S in 161cm that I bought from you guys back in the day. I love them but it’s time for an upgrade. Can you provide some differences between the X7 and Q7?

X9s takes the smoothness, stability, and performance to the next level. Upgrade in bindings as well, so a more premium product.

Looking for a technical carver, 175ish length and 15ish radius (14-16). Early morning groomers before it’s crowded, and it doesn’t have to be versatile. Not an ex-racer, but can definitely carve a turn. Mostly looking to advance my carving skills. Any thoughts? I’m here because this Atomic ski is of interest. Towards the higher performance side of things, the Head WCR E-Race is high on my list. Even that Forza 70 sounds interesting. Just so many choices! Current quiver has a Blizzard Firebird Competition 76, 182cm, (which I love), but I want to try something with a little tighter radius and perhaps even higher performance ceiling. 6’2” 180lbs. Thanks!

The Head leans more to the race side of the spectrum while the Forza is more of a high end recreational carver. If you like the Blizzard, I'd take a look at the Thunderbird R13 for a bit shorter of an arc even.
