I invested 8 years on medical grade eye creams make up techniques and eating right with a pure lifestyle. After much thought And frustration over the amount of time I would spend on trying to conceal my undereye darkness and puffiness, I decided on lower blepharoplasty. It was the best decision I made. It took 2 weeks for recovery, which was not even bad. The procedure took 10 years off my looks, and it gained me My confidence back, which is absolutely priceless!

Dr Kappel, in your collagen banking video from a month ago, you indicate that bovine collagen is better than marine. Yet, in your answer to gothgirl today, you confirm her belief, that marine collagen is better than bovine. Is marine better just for the under eye area, or overall? I have both types (and I think they were actually the same price) but would like to know if, for cosmetic purposes, is one is better than the other? Should I take half of each?
@DrStefaniKappel

I honestly think they are both great. Its hard not to get hung up on new data that gets presented each month but I honestly think you cannot go wrong with either. 8 months ago when I was doing my research, marine was best. After attending the AAD meeting just days before I posted the collagen boosting video, a few weeks ago I had just attended a lecture were they said bovine had the most unbiased data supporting it. I try to keep you guys up to date but sometimes the data changes.

YES!! If they are a board certified dermatologist that is not enuf if you want the best! Honestly. Board certification in a core subspecialty is great but gives a false sense of security regarding their level of expertise. As if they completed a Fellowship in LASERS or PROCEDURAL Dermatology. This means they had an extra year of doing thousands and thousands of proctored laser cases with an expert guiding them. Dermatologists who have that understand lasers like no one else and is who I would only trust my face with.

PRF / PRP injections aren’t supposed to add volume to the under eye area. You’re also supposed to do it 5-6 times before it begins to make a difference and the effects are typically seen longer term (the swelling yes is immediate and goes away fast). I’ve done it and personally it hasn’t necessarily added volume to the area, however it’s definitely thickened the skin around my eye to where the skin is less crepey and that in itself can result in looking more voluminous. Now I’m only 29- so I didn’t have major issues to begin with. But my issues were primarily dark circles and I’ve definitely noticed a significant change as time goes on. I will continue to do it as I get older with a mix of other procedures because it can’t hurt!

Hi Dr. Kappel, For example, someone with musculocontractural Ehlers-Danlos syndrome vs vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome vs Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome vs dermatosparaxis Ehlers-Danlos syndrome might have different considerations with treatments such as vbeam, peels, and thermage. Some patients tend to sag, have "thin skin" and vasculature that can be seen through the skin. Could you suggest questions these patients could bring up with their dermatologists specific to their EDS type when choosing a treatment to get done?

It is so hard to find. Even plastic surgery and derm offices have extenders who are youtubing how to do these procedures in the back office while the patient is waiting in the room. It is scary. Just shop around and don't be afraid to challenge him/her who is touching your face. Ask, if they crossed over from another specialty or how long have the been practicing aesthetics. I'm very passionate about this. A patient just dies the other week when a pediatrician was performing an aesthetic procedure. It is becoming an increasing problem.

What about polynucleotides? Or would they fall under biostumulators and are too new to have studies on the long term efficacy for eyes behind them? Huge fan of your channel and work by the way =)

I am a fan but haven't seen too much data in our medical community or in academic literature on them but sounds promising. I can look into it and do another video soon with an update.

My colleagues and patients have been a little underwhelmed with Softwave results. Its better than nothing but not as impressive as Thermage.

Hi Dr Kappel, thanks for your informative sessions. I'm from Australia and started listening only from last week & your sessions are great! Can we get your products delivered overseas? My dr suggested me to do tixel 2 for my under eye bags. Is it similer to fraxel?

Hi Dr Kappel. Thank you for sharing all the great information. Question. I had fraxel under my eyes a week ago. They are still red. How long dose it take for the redness to go away?

I am curious as to your thoughts on Endolift, it is a subdermal laser, placed under the skin using a fiber optic strand to melt fat and tighten skin.

I’m wondering about Nucleofill for undereyes. Dr Kappel would you recommend for eyebags and wrinkles?
@DrStefaniKappel
5 ай бұрын
It’s so hard to tell with this one. Because i’m non- sponsored by anyone I can speak freely and say I have not heard great things about this one from providers overseas who have used it. However the marketing looks very promising. And i’m a big fan of biostimulatory products. but companies can be really good at persuasive marketing but I’d wait to see more sound clinical data to form an opinion. Has anyone on our youtube community tried this biostimulatiry product yet and can share their experience?

I have had Nucleofill under the eyes (and face and neck) and love it. I don't have eye bags but dark circles. Going for a third treatment soon. My under eyes look much brighter. Combined with Profhilo, SmartPico laser, and your skincare for the eyes, face and neck, my skin looks so healthy 😊. I am based in the UK. My skin is very fair and sensitive and I have coped very well with the polynucleotide for under the eyes.

I love this question. ASLMS and ASS have great laser courses for nurses. Although I am booked out my amazing laser nurse specialist who trained with me and has worked with me for over 12 years is taking appointments. Her name is Stephanie and the office number is 949-688-1288.

I personally do not recommend too much retinol under the eyes because other actives are safer and more effective for that area.
