That Sixty Special is just beautiful, even if it is blue.

Now, tell me you don't see the resemblance between the 1955 and the 1972! When the 1971 Cadillac came out, the first thought I had was how much it looked like the 1954-1956. I read somewhere that the 1971-1976 styling was an homage to the mid-'50s Caddy.

Cadillac styling was evolutionary through the many itinerations. The early '70's design did pay homage to the early, post war designs. May be because Bill Mitchell was involved with both!

@@carshowreporter Could be... People get all gushy and romantic over Virgil Exner and Harley Earl, but Bill Mitchell gets no love at all. True, he was a drunk and a holy terror, but nobody can match his record of styling leadership. His first car for GM was the 1939 Cadillac 60 Special. Hell of debut, wasn't it? He started out as an artist for Barron-Collier Advertising Agency. Oddly enough, they were F. Scott Fitzgerald's first employer!

Interesting piece of trivia, Tom! Mitchell is held in high esteem. From the chrome cleanup revolution of the '59's to the '63 split window and Riviera, to the '66 Toronado, '67 Eldorado..... Bill Mitchell's GM lead the pack.
