Tremendous effort, man. I have been following you since 24.1 trying to follow your strategy, since I am in your age category and the truth is that I admire the effort you make and the control you have of the times (pacing) you use in everything. Congratulations Bro!!!

Thank you so much Pedro, that really means a lot to me! I feel I have a pretty good grasp on making a strategy and pacing...those are my strengths (a heavy barbell is NOT, haha). Thanks again man, much appreciated!

Once again, very inspiring to see the mental toughness you displayed when nearing the breaking point. You found the strength to grit your way through those last several 225 reps that would have done most of us in, and got a couple 245s too. Congrats John, you earned it, and thanks for sharing your workouts with us!

@@MFMustache My pleasure, John! Keep posting, please. You are such a fine example.
Awesome work, John. A little scary there after your first rep @245#. You quickly went and sat on the box. Good thing you didn't pass out. You recovered well and hit another rep. Nicely done! 💪👏👏

Great job hitting 245!!! Question, on the 135s, wouldn’t it have been faster to do more touch and go vs dropping it after each rep? I felt it cost you 2 secs per rep. I totally get doing singles for heavier ones. Btw from the last comment, I wanted to let you know, I won my novice division from yesterday competition 🎉😊

Dude, that’s awesome Andrew, congratulations!! And to answer your question, yes, it would have definitely been faster. I considered it, but chose singles to try to stay as fresh /calm as possible for the 225 round. That was gonna be my make or break for this one. It would be interesting to try it touch n go and see if it helps e at all…but I’d have needed another 30s+ to get another at 245. Congrats again!

@@MFMustache That makes a ton of sense. Things I'm learning as a noob CF athlete is strategy and how to keep fresh.

@@chanman83 also, just saw one of the "big guys" re-did this one and did 10 touch n go with the 135...still took him about 31 seconds. So, IMO, it wouldn't be worth the effort for me...rather stay fresh! The saying I've heard several time from Boz lately is "the juice isn't worth the squeeze." Love that!
