Thanks for your review Everjeff. I’ve only had my Z06 HTC for a week and honestly the bright trim pieces on the interior are the only thing I can say I’m not a fan of. Everything should be stealth when you choose that option. Looking forward to getting it back from PPF and getting the break-in complete.

I just got my Z. The car is almost perfect, and in tour mode it’s daily drivable. 1k miles so far and every time I drive it, it’s an “experience”. It’s just a special feeling car for sure. My only stupid issue, and it applies to the Stingray also, there’s just no space anywhere in the interior. And the phone charger location is ridiculous. Minor issues for a supercar.

@tgchris2222 i haven’t thought too much about the radar detector i know there are videos of some using the blend mount that taps into the rear view mirror. I had Xpel ultimate out on all of the car but the wheels I didn’t do that. I sis have them fully ceramic coated though so inside the barrels and all. So easy to clean after that! I have the ccb’s so not much brake dust from them either.

Yeah, it really makes no sense why they didn’t offer that as part of the stealth package. Maybe it’s an issue with how that section is assembled or pre-assembled.

Hey! Both are excellent generations. Are you planning to go with a Manual or Auto? If Auto, I would try to get a C7. The transmission is a quicker shifting version and if you want to do paddle shift it will be more responsive than the C6. For manual you’re good either way but the C7 does have the 7 speed. You really can’t go wrong with either generation great bang for the buck!

Thanks for the video! I will order my Z06 tomorrow. While talking about the comp seats you got suddenly sidetracked. I am 6.1 and 154 pounds and I really like the look of the seats, but I fear that they might be to stiff for longer drives. Since I live in Switzerland there is no c8 with comp seats anywhere for me to test. What are your thoughts?
@everjeff
4 ай бұрын
Thanks and congrats on getting your order in! I love the comp seats personally. We picked our car up at the museum and drive it home, it was around a 300 mile trip. The seats were great. I haven’t been on a longer drive yet but I don’t see having any issues with them. The back part of the seat I believe are very similar to the GT2 seats, it’s more of the seat bolster that is more snug.
@RISCy27
4 ай бұрын
@@everjeff thanks so much for your answer! Still on the fence, since I cannot test them before (especially my Misses ;-)) If you had been sitting in both, are the comp seats lower to the floor than the gt2? I lowered the gt2 as low as possible but still would like them to go lower, since I like the backrest to be quite upright. This was the only little thing i didn't like in my two test drives. If the comp seats would be lower than the gt2, that would make them a definitive buy. Already spent quite some time searching the forums, but did not find anything conclusive on that topic.
@everjeff

@@RISCy27 I've sat in the GT2 seats but I would think they would both be the same height for adjustments. I was kind of worried how my wife would like the comp seats since we aren't small people hah but she loved them as well. I did some measurements between the side bolsters and the front of the seat closest to the steering wheel it is at 15 inches, middle of the seat is 13 inches and the back of the seat is 11 inches but that is just the seat cushion. The section that is closest to the back part of the seat doesn't really have that stiff of a bolster it's more stiff in the middle of the seat. I will tell you when I rode in a C8 with GT2 seats it was on the NCM Motorsports track and I slid some in the seat. I know for a fact in these comp seats I wouldn't slide at all. My weight isn't in my rear but based on your weight I wouldn't think you would have any issue with comfort but it's hard to say and I sure wouldn't want to lead you into them and you not like them. I really wish there was someone near you that you could test them out.

Congrats on the Z06. Do you miss the ZL1 1LE? And what would you say is the main difference in driving and performance between the Z06 and your ZL1 1LE?
@everjeff
3 ай бұрын
Thanks! I've had the Z06 now for 2 months and so far I'm not missing the ZL1 1LE. The Z06 is a beast, no doubt. I will say between the two cars, the ZL1 1LE is by far the rawest of the two, with the track suspension on the 1LE you feel the road more so I'm getting used to a more smooth ride with the Z06 but in the Sport or Track setting it is closest to the same feeling but still not the same. Acceleration in the Z06 is quicker, the midengine layout really is amazing in this car with how much traction it has. I haven't messed with any of the traction control settings but in the ZL1 1LE even with traction control on you had to respect it as it could kick out on you if the conditions were right. I can't wait to go on a good 200 mile trip in the Z06 and see how well it drives. The only long trip we've done so far was coming back from Bowling Green, KY when we picked the car up and it was still in the break in period. I can tell this car will love mountain/canyons and curves! I'm fortunate that a friend bought my ZL1 1LE so I still get to see the car from time to time. The ZL1 1LE will always have a place in my heart as it was truly one of the best cars I ever had the priviledge of driving. Im at 1250+ miles on the Z06 now and can't wait to put more on it!

Remote works for opening and closing service panel only by hitting lock first and then the top button. Full HTC only works to open with the remote. I’m told there’s an aftermarket module that will allow you to close the full HTC with the remote but I haven’t looked into it yet.

I guess the “worth it” would be yes for me but they are definitely different types of cars. The ZL1 1LE is more raw, you feel all of the road with that car whereas you still feel some of that in the track settings of the Z06 it’s not as harsh. The Z06 definitely feels faster.

I have that tag to honor Zora Arkus-Duntov, GM Engineer that pushed to have GM build a mid-engine Corvette. His nickname is the “Father of the Corvette” even though he didn’t create Corvette. Also his portrait is on every C8 Corvette windshield.
