The only way it is plausible is if the SEC cannibalizes itself so much that their conference SOS is made irrelevant. I think that happens this season as there are 10 SEC teams that I think are of Top 30/25 caliber (compare this to 8 in the Big Ten, who is also a larger conference and will player weaker out of conference games on average), but I could be very wrong. In my next CFP predictions video (there will be at least one more update), don't be surprised if I sub out Iowa or another SEC team that either has an easy schedule (maybe Texas A&M 👀) or I think is elite enough to avoid upsets (Ole Miss).

If Oregon goes 12-0, or 11-1 and loses to Ohio State in the BIG10 championship, Oregon will not drop below the team that didn’t make it to Indianapolis in the 3rd spot, which is Michigan in your model. Oregon will be 5th to 8th no matter what, even with 2 losses if they play in the Big10 championship. We learned a lot from how they viewed TCU’s loss two years ago in the conference championship. And as far as Oregon, their undefeated season for 12-0 comes down to Oct. 12th. Michigan doesn’t have much of a prayer, after Oregon beats Ohio State, with the confidence they’ll have. And if they lose to OSU, you’ll see the same thing as last year, where they won’t let anything get in their way, to get a rematch with Ohio State…Especially Michigan, Wisconsin, and Washington.
@DuckFanDownSouth

I can possibly see Oregon dropping a spot below Michigan in this scenario since Oregon would have a regular season loss to Michigan and Michigan would have a win against Texas. I don't think the committee would put them below #8 or behind PSU. PSU has too easy of a schedule and would have lost to a team that Oregon beat, and I imagine played a close game in the Big Ten championship. It's not speculation about which team is better, but using what the committee has done in the past to predict future rankings.

They are easily the worst P4 team to make it and are inferior to Ole Miss, Texas, LSU, and several other teams (including Nebraska who I have them beating) but because of their softer schedule and their clutch way of winning games I think they steal a bid.

I think you’ve overestimated the Big10 (5 teams) and underestimated the SEC (3 teams). I understand your thought process and I think it makes sense. As this isn’t a criticism. But wasn’t this expanded playoff created to reward teams who play tough schedules and schedule power 4 out of conference opponents? Allowing great teams with more obstacles to be less than perfect and have a shot. If Iowa has a 1 loss season, they obviously must be rewarded (regardless of SOS). But if a team like Texas is left out at 10-2 with losses to UGA and Michigan on the road, this system has failed (I am unsure how you had Texas’ season playing out. But that anecdote will be applicable for many SEC teams). And if that’s the case, the SEC will pull out of the “poly-conference” playoff system as it has failed the SEC. Again, this isn’t a criticism of your video, more just a thought provoking question/response. To be clear, I’m a Clemson fan, not an SEC homer.

No, that is just how things shook out. A 12-1 Alabama is the only non-Top 4-champion who would be ranked ahead of an 11-1 Michigan who has wins over Texas and Oregon and only lost to Ohio State by around a field goal. The committee would also give Miami the nod over Utah for the 3 seed because Miami's more exciting style of play and superior championship game victory would give them brownie points, even though I think Utah is significantly better. Dude, I love my Ducks but even I know when to call a spade a spade regarding my own team and you'd do well to take off your blinders. @@Josiah-gk4ou oh yeah, they will. Michigan has to play three of the top four teams, and even if they have them at home, they’re not as good because they don’t have their coach and their team is one of the worst as far as returning starters. Also, Oregon is just more talented and they will have a great defense and they have a great offense. Michigan has a good offense and probably a great defense. You’re just assuming Michigan is gonna be this great team and your assuming Oregon is going to be bad even though they were dominant last year and they improve their roster. Ok. What are you huffing to come up with these “seedings?” These seedings come across, not as someone who huff their own farts, but as somebody who stands at the back of an elevator and hopes other people come in and fart. Teams that lost their starting QBs: Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Notre Dame (Riley Leonard won’t get it done) Teams that wish they lost their starting QB: Penn St. - Drew Allar is mid. You say Georgia and Ohio State are on a different level than everybody else?!? What makes you say that? Both teams are good, but not head and shoulders above everybody. Georgia has been great, but they lost a lot. The Bulldogs lost 3 out of their top 4 pass catchers and their top 2 RBs. Etienne will be very good there, and they obviously recruit well, but he isn’t going to make up for what was lost at the receiver position. A RB can only catch so many balls out of the backfield. The draft and the portal took two starters from the OL and 4 of their top 7 tacklers on defense, including 3 from the secondary. Georgia will once again be very good, maybe top of the class, but there isn’t a lot of daylight between Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon. Why all the love for Ohio State? They lost 3 out of their top 4 pass catchers, 3 of their top 5 tacklers on defense, and their staring QB…and replaced him with Will Howard. The combination of Ryan Day coaching and Will Howard throwing INTs will cost Ohio State 2 games…minimum. I say they will lose 2 out of Iowa (15%), Oregon (L), Nebraska (5-10%), or Purdue (5-10%). They have to go to PSU, but Allar doesn’t have the killer heart. I don’t feel PSU would beat OSU, but probably put it around (20-25%) Penn State lost 3 starting Olinemen and their starting edge rushers. Gone are their top three CBs, one of whom was a preseason AA, and another tied a school and national record for punt returns. Their top returning pass catchers are last year’s backup TE and RB. Their top returning receiver has 38 total catches and 2 TDs in his career. Fleming has averaged fewer than 20 catches over 4 years at OSU, and he had Stroud throwing to him for most of that. PSU will not be getting wins by outscoring anybody. Given all they lost and having a mid QB, PSU will have a major skid in the middle of the season, losing to USC, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Purdue. Michigan looks like they'll start Alex Orji at QB. If that happens, the Wolverines will start a QB who did not attempt a single pass last year. That doesn’t look good for a team that lost 7 Olinemen, to graduation, the portal, or the draft; six who were drafted or undrafted signings and 1 transfer who was a 4-star sophomore. While Michigan has a reputation for linemen, that’s going to hurt. UM also had 7 defensive players drafted or UFA signings and 4 LBs transfer (two 4-stars, one 3-star, and a 4-year ST player). And on top of all of that: gone are the head coach, QB1, RB1, TE1. The Wolverines go 9-3/8-4 with losses to Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, and maybe USC. Texas lost a lot but retooled at the WR position with #1s from other teams. The depth for the Longhorns at receiver is very good, as are all of the offensive positions. There are two main areas of concern for the Texas defense; DT and the secondary. The edge will be very deep and very good for the Longhorns, as will the linebacker positions. There is no replacing the production of two All-American DTs, but Texas has tried through the portal. Big Sadir Mitchell (6’6, 370) is also set to get a lot of time. When he is in, there is no running…or at least you wouldn’t think there would be. The secondary is young (soph. starters and FR backups) but they are 5-star players, so they will take lumps but should learn quickly. The Longhorns will beat Michigan and Oklahoma, solid wins, but not blowouts. Texas won't be intimidated by Georgia. This game will be a toss-up. Arkansas is overmatched against Texas, but HATES the Horns. They'll fight hard and pull out all the stops to try to upset the Longhorns. A&M will take Arkansas' effort and multiply it by 10,000. Texas has a legitimate chance of 0-1 losses although 2 can happen just as well. HOW on God’s Earth do you have Utah winning the Big XII??? Arizona kicked the shit out of them 42-18 with a FR QB! I know Rising is coming back for his 14th season, but Fifita is coming back too, along with 4 Oline starters and most of the WR production. Utah has the tougher schedule, playing on the road at Utah St., Okla St., and Iowa St. Utah will find out the Pac12 was overrated last year and will lose 4-5 games next year. Arizona and Okla St. will finish higher than Utah. With their schedule, the Cowboys could easily go 11-1/10-2 next year. Utah will not win the Big 12. #1 - Georgia or Texas #2 - Oregon #3 - Florida St. #4 - Oklahoma St. #5 - Georgia or Texas #6 - Ohio St. #7 - Alabama #8 - Ole Miss #9 - Arizona #10 - ND #11 - Mizzou or (11-3 DUKE) #12 -- Liberty
