I did end up getting the RS4 and did it feel like a minor upgrade? We'll dive into that on the next one.

I currently use the Beholder EC-1 from eons ago and I've been wondering what new features are available in today's market. Your video went into just enough detail to show off what I need to know. Thank you for showcasing these gimbals. If I ever decide to upgrade I'm definitely eyeing the RS3.

Hi! I'm currently using Sony A6600 with Tamron 17-70mm for mainly shooting music videos. And I'm thinking of getting a used gimbal. Let's say if my budget is around 300, which one would you recommend between Rs2, Rs3 and Rs4? Cuz, I don't want to just go for the cheapest one but then end up not powerful enough, so if that's what it takes, I'm willing to raise my budget. And thank you for the wonderful video! It really helped! Thank you.

Glad it was helpful. If you could bump your budget a bit, I’d go with the RS3. Still a solid gimbal and not far off from the RS4. The RS3 Mini would be a good option if you want to stay within budget, but if you zoom to 70mm on that lens, the Mini could be limited.

@@mattchungz I see. But I have heard although Rs3 comes with more features and easy to use, but on the other side Rs2 are more solid on the hardware. Since Rs2 is using carbon fiber so the payload could be heavier and it's technically a pro series gimbal. Then what would you choose between Rs2 and Rs3? Thank you so much!

I actually haven’t tried the RS2 but there must be a reason the RS2’s design didn’t stick and carry over to the RS3 right? I actually haven’t even seen anyone using an RS2, I’ve mostly seen RS3’s out there being used by other videographers. I also used to think their "improved" algorithm each gen was just a marketing stunt but I definitely noticed the difference in stabilization between the RS3 and the RS4.

Also forgot to mention…the auto locking on the RS3 alone can be the only reason to get it over the RS2. It’s game changing.

@@mattchungz Thank you so much for helping me!!! Because I saw some people say that the upgraded version of the Rs2 is the Rs3 Pro, so I'm worried that if the Rs3 is not part of the Pro series, it might not be strong enough. Thank you for the clarify! Much appreciate.

Is it worth to buy a Ronin Sc used but in very very good condition for 100 euro ?

That’s an excellent deal and yes I’d say it’s worth it. Whether you’re starting off and need a gimbal to get started or if you’re getting it as a backup gimbal to have in case your main craps out on you.

The rs3 mini and rsc 2 are almost same price right now, which of the two would you recommend?

The main factor is your setup weight. The RSC 2 supports up to 6.6 lbs so if you have a heavier setup it’s better to go with that. Otherwise, the RS3 mini is really versatile cause of its size

@mattchungz thank you man! I am thinking the mini like you said because of the versatility of it, but from watching videos they say it has its limitations and that the rsc 2 is better in the long run since it has more features, so I still do not know which one to get lol. My setup is not heavy at all either it is M50, biggest lens are the nifty fifty and the 55-200

If you’re using it mostly for work shoots and not so much travelling to shoot travel videos, I’d say go with the RCS 2. It is going to be more solid when putting it through strenuous work than the Mini plus the extra features would be beneficial in shoots. The mini really is just simple and straightforward, designed for travel and on the go.

@mattchungz yeah would mainly be to help out with the recording of weddings and quinceañeras, do not know if the mini would be capable or maybe more than enough? , only last drawback is that the rsc 2 has 2nd generation stabilizing software, while the mini 3 has the 3rd. Do you still prefer using the SC over the mini because of the weight you mentioned in the video?

The mini would be capable for sure, the extra features on the RSC2 are nice but depends if you need them or not like the one touch vertical mode for social. The design of it to be able to get those low shots can also be done on the mini if you pick up a briefcase handle. On long shoot days the mini’s overall weight would be easier on your arms. But for me personally, I still use beefier gimbals on client shoots and now only use the mini for travel or as a backup gimbal. I’ve since retired the RSC and using the RS4.
