The rotary badge was on my 1964 Dodge Dart. The badge is part of Dodge history.

My man, if they would have phased in an electric 3 or 4 years ago WITH their SRT program, it would've been fine. They will not be fine with less sales. 300 million per year saved in fines does not equal SRT sales revenue. Not even close. There were hybrid V8s on the table, they refused. I worked on the SRT engineering team - I was there. They refused because Stellantis is a European car maker. European ideals in what cars should be. On my last day, I told Dodge leadership that we aren't Europe. When you don't meet market demand, you don't receive market revenue. My drive by Dodge dealerships these days tells me all I need to know: tons of new underpowered and overpriced vehicles just sitting there not selling.

I'll leave a big comment here to answer (and justify) many of the questions and statements regarding the Charger Daytona EV: As for the lack of V8, this is merely a big corporate decision from Stellantis that's far out of Dodge's control, hell even the new Maserati Gran Turismo will be a twin turbo V6 instead of a V8. Though Dodge through all extents had brought it up to themselves since they've ditched the idea of selling commuters in place of being the one modern brand known for selling mass produced hotrods at a bargain, not a bad sales practice in the slightest albeit not a good model for their own brand if they were to preserve their V8's down the line by producing commuters and EV's for some CAFE tokens (the mere existence of the Mustang Mach-E is to prolong the Mustang GT's production, believe it or not). No big gains for Dodge to constantly pay for the EPA fines with the V8 so don't expect it to come back ever! The different power levels for the car were hinted before; a single (340V), dual (400V) and triple motor trims (800V), each offering 2 eStages of power levels through Direct Connection yet as of recently one can get a hint for the Banshee trim power level through the Maserati Gran Turismo Folgore EV (both cars will be using the same electric motors to put it short) with the chance of the 340V being RWD only. Dodge also announced that they will be making the Charger Daytona with the Hurricane Inline 6 Twin Turbo engine, both in standard and high output per choice. The "rotary" logo is what's known to be as the Fratzhog logo, first seen back in the mid-60's through their cars as it officially makes a return to be exclusive for Dodge's future EV's. My only concern with the car are the subscription locked modes being hinted for the car, paying additional to get the models after paying full price for the car takes away from getting what you've payed for, fingers crossed that this service model doesn't make it through. Overall I can definitely see this as a new market for other car manufacturers to cash in, if the car was to sell like hot cakes! Like I said, even if Dodge themselves would rather throw in a revamped Hemi, it's never gonna be possible under corporate decisions from their superiors & the EPA making it worse for Dodge to generate profits regardless of the visceral experience that a genuine muscle car can bring to the driver. I'm looking forward to the conversation for any doubts!

I get what you say but I don't think you're reading the writing on the walls. As much as we want the ICE's to stick around it's not going to happen. The EV vehicles are much more efficient, much faster, and hopefully soon we won't be subject to what Saudi Arabia's charging for a barrel of fuel oil not to mention the effects of all this having on climate and the environment. I think the earth will be better off for it and so will we. As far as shifting is concerned, electric motors being what they are different gears will no longer be needed. Electric motors have instant power and torque all the time and now that we are witnessing this transitioning to EV vehicles stick shifts are slowly being phased out. We can think, hope, and pray all we want but I realistically don't see any of it happening as progress progresses.😢

Wow. Study your history before you make a video. First, as everyone else pointed out, the “rotary” badge, which is called a FRATZOG is a big part of Dodge history. But you also said that you’re glad they are “bringing back the look of the original Dodge Charger”. But this looks NOTHING like the original Dodge Charger. It DOES, however, resemble the 1968-1970 Charger body style. But that was NOT the original Charger. Look it up and please do some research before posting ignorant comments. Have a nice day

What so special about this V8 ? Why are people getting mad about old internal combustion engine , only cause of the noise? And why manual whats so special about manual anyways, haven’t we all driven manual (which was way more complicated) only in usa majority of cars are automatic , people still have manual cars in other countries and automatic is expensive and for the rich… so ya manual sux

You have the Tesla plaid, but the only wait to make it any faster is to literally cut the car up. I.C.E’s can be modded. If you don’t understand that you must be new to the car scene

@@runespaze really it can be modded, and you know it can be done ? then why haven't they done in past 50 years if it was so easy, while electric cars come up and beat 99% of the ICE's easily. and how can u say that the only way to make tesla faster is to cut the car up ? if thats the case why do model 3, model y , and model S have different acceleration ? give the technology sometime its not even been 10 proper year. anyways my question was about dodge, not tesla. whats so special about the old V8( which is slower) and why are people mad about it and its sound ?

If they are getting mpg fine over the current engine just develop a new V8 engine. What dodge did was the dumbest thing ever imagine and the saddest thing was they could make a ev no problem but why did they give another name for the ev and leave the Charger alone.
@LudiCrust.

Car companies are putting their classic names on EVs bc all future performance cars are going to be EVs while the grocery go getters will likely be hydrogen cells. No one is going to buy a nonperformance EV going forward unless it’s a huge off roader or pickup.

Just like Mercedes with the new C63 AMG and its 4 cylinders, customers will go to BMW M. As simple as this. No rocket sciences. Wrong move from Dodge on that one, and same with the Camaro. Corvette and Mustang will see their numbers on the road increase in the next couple of years.

Dodge will be ok.. the world of v8s are dead bro.. wishful thinking but writing is on the wall.. its electric.. there will be no manufacturer still making v8s. It's basically keep your v8 and pay some type of luxury tax or get an electric car.. that's what I see happening. There is no development in a "new engine" they are all researching electric motors, batteries, and how to make a profit selling these vehicles
