Experience the thrilling 2024 EnduroGP World Championship Super Test from Wales, where KTM USA rider Angus Riordan makes a stunning debut, taking the win as the regular world championship contenders struggle to match the Aussie’s impressive time.
The event kicked off with the legendary David Knight officially opening the EnduroGP of Wales, attracting a sizeable crowd for the Friday Super Test head-to-head races. Knight initially set the fastest time, holding the hot seat while Open World Cup riders completed their runs. The Enduro Women class faced challenging conditions as rain made the logs and tyres slick, but Team KBS Sherco’s Rachel Gutish secured the win ahead of Nieve Holmes.
The Youth class brought excitement and noise with RFME rider Alex Puey clocking the fastest time at 2:10. Angus Riordan stole the show in the Junior class, treating the crowd to a ripping display with a time of 2:01.4. As the senior EGP classes hit the track, conditions became more challenging with intermittent rain, fading light, and a rougher track.
Despite the increasing difficulty, top riders like Zach Pichon, Josep Garcia, Dan Mundell, and Steve Holcombe pushed hard, but the best times they could achieve were 2:04. In the end, the rookie Riordan’s early advantage and stellar performance earned him the Akrapovic award.
“First ever EnduroGP and I think because I was quite early the track was nice and I had that advantage on my side but, yeah, I’m pretty stoked with that!” said Riordan after receiving his award.
