You don't have to buy a CVO model to get Brembo brakes. The model you rode has them, they're just HD branded Brembos. The master cylinder is Brembo as well. The same goes for the older bikes. My 2016 has Brembos that came standard. When you take them off, you'll see the Brembo B on the other side.

The road glide vid made me buy a harley.. I went from Yamaha Mt-09 to the Harley Davidson Road King Special. I love my new bike and it was totally worth it. I noticed I like cruising instead of being a hooligan and getting a cruiser just made sense. The only things I don't like is the heavy clutch (in traffic) and even with a windscreen I get a lot of wind buffeting at higher speeds than 65mph (110 ish km per hour for my canadians). I love cruisers now which I never thought I would.

OC response: I had liked the RG more, but I think the new sleek look of the SG gives it a slimmer look. I also like how the screen is closer. Test rode the RG and wasn’t sure exactly how I felt about it. Liked it, but couldn’t see myself owning it. Interestingly enough it never even crossed my mind to walk over to the next row and look at a SG. This video changes my mind a bit.

Very comfortable bike. I rent these all the time in LA and have a blast. My only complaint is the stock bar height for a 6'2 rider is too low and makes me hunch over. If I would buy one of these, i would immediately get lifters on those (not ape swingers) and most definitely a back rest. Most of the absorbing of the rode gets direct to the center of this bike, every time you go over a pothole or a bump, it goes immediately to my lower back lol
@soggycracker5934

Just went and rode a '24 SG. It was terrible. Partly because of preference, partly because of dealer addons for that particular bike. The bars were super narrow, curled in too far, and pulled back, the footboards are still too narrow for my feet(normal for Harleys), and it had a heel-toe shifter which ensured that I could only get my heel on the left footboard. I did like the lift the bike got, the new seat is better, and the suspension is superb. Unfortunately, the cramped foot condition with the stock bars being badly set made it a horrible experience. I'll be sticking with my RKS and hoping they release an updated Road King without ruining it. I'm not buying a bike that I have to spend thousands more just to make it rideable.

Road Glide better looking? I have a ‘24 Street Glide 8th HD over years and superior to my prior bikes. Best handling, best features and fastest in stock format. I test rode the Road Glide as well felt like a boat to me and the infotainment is too far away for my old eyes. I like having the screen right in front of my view and within easy arms reach. Also like the drawer. I know people say Road Glide rides better but may be negligent to notice a difference. The Street Glide feels more sportier and nimble and to me looks way better than the Road Glide but that is my subjective opinion.

Neither one has any leg protection (look at your Car Cam shots). You will be soaking wet in the rain, and that is Design Flaw for a touring bike. Honda GW, BMW RT and K1600 or the AdV bikes like the GS, Multistrada will protect your legs from the elements of weather. For HD standards, it is a good looking bike with proper Technology. If the local HD Dealer were NOT such Dicks, I'd go for a test ride.

There is no better machine made for long distance travel, not even close imho. Goldwing, Venture, K1600 etc. None of them compare. I have owned Road Glides and Street Glides and I will say that the whole fairing thing is total BS. There is no difference in highway winds in terms of fairings....none! I have a Russell Daylong with a rider's backrest.....more comfortable than my truck! Those who rip on Harley have never ridden a bagger, RG or SG. I love them both but I find the SG is easier to handle, I also have terrible vision so the SG fairing is closer and easier to read the gauges. Either bike is as good as it gets imho. Now I also own Ducati's KTM's Yamaha's and more and they do their thing equally as well but to travel highways I will always choose my SG. They even handle amazing well, I have done the Dragon many times on my SG and enjoyed it.

@@TheKingsapostle How can one be wrong with an opinion? I have owned both and I personally prefer the SG. I think they are both great but they are the same bike with a different fairing. The Road glide offers a more spacious feel but is less effective against weather/rain. The street glide is lighter in the front end, dash is easier to read. RG has better storage but on these new ones the SG has better storage. It all comes down to a personal need or preference not a right or wrong. 10 times better? I think not. The whole fairing in the wind BS is exactly that. I have put thousands of miles on both the SG and RG......there is no advantage to the RG, in fact, the SG being lighter in the front end feels better to me. The point I was making is that both the SG and RG are by far the best touring bikes made.

I'd take the mt10 over the 1290, and that's like 7k cheaper. Yamaha does it better and cheaper. Also, you don't have to take it to the shop for recalls every other riding season 😆 seriously, though ktm's are cool bikes. Ride safe.
