It's a shame the supermicro board doesn't have 10gb networking onboard. They have one with a 2011 Intel processor that has 2 x 10gb onboard.

Yeah that’s only draw back but didn’t mind because I’m not using it for large file transfers

@@MartinHiggs84That’s overkill unless you’re using (multiple) 4*10Gbit cards, with v3 an X4 slot provides ~4GByte/s throughput which would be hard to saturate, but X8 already provides way more than you need for a4*10Gbit card. When using a v4 or v5 gen these bandwidths are doubled per generation.

There’s a lot of acronyms that I don’t know. Perhaps this is targeting the professionals, but this is definitely beyond me, unfortunately.
