For fun, Hyundai offers the i30 N, and at the other end of the scale, is their new Hybrid. Boasting economy figures of just 3.9-litres/100km, it has the potential to make it an obvious choice for those wanting to avoid the petrol station.
It means you don't need to go fully electric to save on fuel, but all that tipples may not be gold. The main differentiator of the Hybrid is of course, its powertrain - a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 1.32kWh lithium battery motor.
The result is 104kW of power and 265Nm of torque being sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. Taking into consideration the i30 Hybrid’s 42-litre fuel tank, you’re looking at potentially spending a long time out on the road.
