Would definitely suggest knitting the Chantal sweater as your saddle shoulder sweater. I wear mine so much!! Love that you also talk about unraveling sweaters. People are always a bit hesitant to do that but it’s a nice way to repurpose things you already have

thanks - I really got inspired by you version of Chantal and almost completely sure I will knit it this year! agree with you on the second point! I see a lot of fun in the whole repurposing yarn for a different project but get that some people don’t find it as exciting :))

Really enjoyed this video! My goals this year are to be intentional in what I knit for my wardrobe and to knit gifts for my family. Although I’ve always been a slower knitter and have never knit very many garments in a year! So, I’m still building a knit wardrobe. I’m also interested in learning to sew better and make myself some skirts and dresses. I’d love to have a mostly handmade wardrobe! Choosing colors and patterns can quickly get overwhelming for me too. I need to make myself a color palette and stick to it, I think I may be a soft autumn like you too! Another goal, which I’ve started is keeping a knitted journal. So maybe today I will write down some wardrobe goals. 💕

these are such wonderful goals 💗 I also want to make some gifts and get more skills in sewing! hope we both do that this year ☺️ I also hope that you did write your goals down in your knitting journal, I know sometimes it is so hard to just start and do it!

I love the way you planned this on your ipad. It looks so pretty! I can totally understand your thoughts on slowing down. There are sooo many designs one would love to make. But I also think knitting is a SLOW hobby. Like it celebrates being mindful and just taking your time with things. I want to make garments for many years go come, so why hurry? The things that stick with me, I will make. And the other things I just think I need (based on what I see on instagram daily) will fade away eventually. I love that you are getting into sewing as well. I love sewing❤

thank you so much! ❤️ I totally agree with you! I like thinking about things I like and want to make but I always need to give myself some time before starting any project - as you said, some things just fade as soon as I stop seeing them non stop on social media

Love this video. I'm afraid of overconsumption as well, and I want to reknit everything that I don't wear, as I use knitting as a treatment for my anxiety😅 Pascuali Pints is my absolute love. It's so shiny, soft and I don't have any problem with peeling for now

I absolutely love your intentions of slowing down your knitting. I learned how to knit in Feb 2023 (crocheted before) and I quickly fell down the rabbit hole of all the amazing patterns and inspiration available at my finger tips. I have gotten really overwhelmed with my projects because I started too many. I am also hoping to slow myself down to get back to my other hobbies such as reading a drawing too. I just loved your video and it was so thoughtful and something a lot of us in the crafting/knitting community needed to hear and hopefully will help us reflect on our own relationships with our craft that we all love so much!

I love that you can make the intention to unravel a project and repurpose it, this can be such a hard decision to make so it’s really impressive that your ‘why’ is so strong. Love your channel, so relaxing to watch! I only started to knit Nov 2023 and currently working on no.18 which I’m loving but I’m getting so excited to try new projects with different techniques but making it a rule to have max 2 project wips at a time and not allowed to buy yarn for a new project until one is finished, this is keeping me excited and actually focused on my current projects. I’d be happy to just finish one jumper this year but would like to complete at least 5 items and learn some new techniques with each item (x2 jumpers and x2 camis and a scarf) love your channel, you are making me want to start one specifically for my knitting journey ❤

thank you so much for your kind words! deciding to unravel something can indeed be difficult, especially if the finished piece looks not bad but after knitting for quite a while, I kind of appreciate the ability of taking a step back with all of my projects and use a second chance, makes knitting truly magical for me :) wow you are such a newbie but already working on sweater no. 18! kudos to you! also like your take on how to stay excited about new projects - I honestly do the same, don´t like to have too many wips at the same time :) creating videos has been so much fun for me so definitely would recommend going ahead if you feel like it!

I would add a section, to be good to yourself, and have room for newly released patterns, I am super excited for the Isager archives, I heard about it yesterday from Helle of Danish musings, and the newest and last Pom Pom magazine is super !❤

that’s for sure! I really enjoy looking into the new patterns, I usually add them to my favourites and give myself some time to see if I indeed want to make them

I can definitely relate to the thought that there is just so much inspiring content and new patterns released so often, that it can get overwhelming to keep up. Luckily, we don’t have to. And I don’t think it’s boring at all to take it slow and knit fewer items. I enjoy your podcasts a lot and find them very inspiring ☺️
