Neatly done as usual, I don't know why youtube doesn't recommend this on my homepage neither was I able to find the video in the channel nor the subscription part. Now these are the small requests that I have, 1. What kind of bikes should the new riders look for, I myself haven't owned any bikes but have ridden my brother's pulsar 220f and ns200, my friends re hunter and meteor, tvs raider and splendor of course, but the confusion is what type of rider am I is still a question, I liked all bikes I've ridden, but still it's always a question, so it would be better if u guys can give an idea like buy something ride for somedays figure out change the bike😂 2. How to test ride, like what are the things we have to try while test riding the bike! It is simple but it is the key enabler of buying a bike, so what are all the aspects we should look for? [ Oh yeah forgot to add, these summary ,keep them coming]

Hai aaj bhi duniya me sukhanwar boht; kehte hain ke hai Ghalib ka andaaz-e-bayaan kuch aur. Im starting to think i come here for shumi's andaaz-e-bayaan (eleqoquence of speaking) and Kartikeya's breezy easiness. I still love motorcycles but this is getting to be a deeper affair now. Shumi serves up facts like hot coals and Kartikeya harnesses them like an expert running a BBQ, serving us a nicely done exchange.
@kaushikmore3438
9 ай бұрын
At 15:15 what shumi said, did he mean that one would learn about track riding more with a convex or concave bike than a linear bike, because however true that is, for some people it can be intimidating and as much as I agree that the bikes have to be unforgiving for you to learn better, I also think that there’s no harm in learning the very basics on a linear bike (say the 250) for some people & I think that’s what kartikeya thinks too
@motorinc

Absolutely! But Shumi says 16 years of teaching people to ride at the track says it's the challenge that unlocks the desire to learn more/faster, not the lack of it for most people

Update 1: Soooo got to test ride the Duke 250 last week and found it to be such an easy bike to work with. While the ride lasted for a very short time, it had me smiling the whole time. At the start of the year, I got to ride the 2022 Adventure 250 courtesy a friend of mine and I was Blown Away at how the ride felt. The stance, the way it handled and all. And now I'm confused if I want to go with the Duke or the Adv 250. The bike will be used for city commites primarily, and I don't want to discount on going on long rides. There was something about having ridden the Adv 250 that day that has stuck with me till now and I'm not sure how to compare both these bikes. Would love your input on this. Thank you! :)

I think KTM should launch a new variant of the 250 Duke with the adjustable suspension at the front and the TFT screen from the 390 Duke. Also, I feel KTM should discontinue the 200 Duke because it does not make sense anymore because there's a 250 Duke. I think KTM should introduce a smaller 160 cc Duke and RC and launch it at the same price of the R15 and MT-15. So, if anyone upgrades from these to a 250, there would be a significant difference for him when it comes to acceleration and overall power.

Thanks so much! You have to decide what mood of motorcycling are you more into. The KTM won’t chill, it likes to zip. The Himalayan can zip - very well. But not as well as the KTM. But it can help you relax. It’s better rounded - it’s a well behaved bike. Think of it this way - KTM requires an experienced and restrained hand. The Himalayan will welcome less experienced riders too.

What I meant in firm opinion is that for most of us watchers,reviews paint an idea of what to expect for the money we pay,which most of us had to earn.so when a reviewer is firm on their opinion,it helps the viewer much better as we are taking the information at mercy of reviewer...,which if they cant stick to when introduced to different facts and ideas...how could we possibly trust their opinions for our purchase? In case of this video I felt the reviewers agree on performance charecter but disagree on their personal taste in a different use case senario,which I think 99%of us won't be doing so its rather an intresting information , than one affecting our purchase or something much as important...😊 {If there was a big disparity in setting performance expectations by the reviewers...it might get tough for us viewers}

I may be making a bold statement, but MotorInc has created something that could give an existential crisis to podcasts. The knowledge and experience that you both have just makes this format more enjoyable. Be it 30 minutes or over an hour, I am genuinely excited to watch the videos you come up with. And, to build on that point, I would suggest a new format, where you just discuss the best ways to ride a bike (in terms of the best rev range the best gearing, etc). I have always learned how to milk the most out of a bike by riding it time and again, but listening to you makes me feel that if this information is made available, it will help many inexperienced riders enjoy their purchase much more and much faster.

A month back I was looking at used standard bullet 500s and had almost finalised on one when I chanced upon a conversation where Karthik was mentioning the niggles with the older models and later one where Shumi was talking about how much better the j series was. Having owned a 2009 TBTS for fifteen years and having put over 2 lakh kms on it I was sold on the idea of the new standard. Then as luck would have it, as I was finalising on the standard variant of the new standard 350 I saw a short of Shumi promoting the v strom 250 sx. I went for a test drive out of morbid curiosity. I might probably be the only person to say this but it was love at first drive. Do you think aprilia will update sr 160 or venture into new category of touring scooter with sr gt 200. Do you think aprilia will try to ride this touring trend? Cry for scooter fans for more option to upgrade from 125cc scooters.

Thank you guys for the video.. I love my Duke 250 of 2021. The calm nature saved me when I was transitioning from my Gixxer SF. Right now its like she reads my mind on the road and we are in sync all the time. The newer ones are even better it seems and Bravo to KTM for that..

It always gives a smile when I'm unable to put into words the sense of what the bike gives me but then Shumi comes into play and says this happened because of this, this feels like this because of this and it perfectly matches with what I have experienced when I ride a certain bike is amazing. the little things like the wheelbase is so short and the front tire is right underneath you and it feels quick(this is exactly what I felt when I rode the old Duke 250 but couldn't put it into words for how quick it can steer) This happens to me with most of the bikes I have ridden and the sense of what it means when Shumi puts it in words. In this aspect I would love to see ur experiences and thoughts on every manufacturer (got curious when u said to leave a comment for Honda).

It doesn't make a big difference in the context of the 250 Duke. It's always had a reasonable even spread of performance and it still does.

Masterpiece from Mattighofen: Owner of the last available batch. May 2023 KTM 250 Duke, Ebony Black. 1. Amazing suspension. 10/10 Superb would be an understatement. 2. Excellent ABS. 3. Beautiful exhaust note. Great and very reliable engine and exhaust. Brilliant electronics. 4. Top notch build quality. You see it in person and you will be blown away! (if it's a clean bike) 5. The 250 is such an amazing engine for the duality it offers. It can be super snappy / agile or very relaxed! A gem of an engine. Refined for sure. It is both a cruiser and a sports bike! 6. Great brakes. The front brake is brilliant. 9.5/10 (better pads can help!) AMAZING!

This podcast is so damn perfect that I am crystal clear that this is the bike I am looking for. I recently rented the Pulsar N160 and rode it for almost 400 kms and loved the torque and its city friendliness so much that I was planning to get the N250. But after seeing this podcast, I think this KTM matches more to what I want. My life would be miserable if I got this as it is way above my budget but I believe it will be worth the misery. Will take a test ride sometime next year.

Shumi’s verdict is quite contradictory in different videos. Anyways, I’ve tested this n here’s my verdict. Firstly as a 36 years old guy, I was finding myself so out d place for duke 250 amongst these young chimps n started considering an RE 350 or something. So, It’s super fun. Riding it made me feel younger. I loved it coz it’s nimble, but the silly pricing pushes to stretch budget n go for 390 instead.

Be it ergonomics, performance, refinement or even handling, the Honda CB300R beats the KTM hands down. But KTM claws back points when it comes to features (no USB charging plus box section rear swingarm on the Honda) and overall aftersales (parts availability and maintenance). Better to go for the 390 as the difference between the two is less than a lakh and the crazy amount of electronics, adjustable suspension for both the front and rear and the extra power is completely justified for that price. "Matured beginners" (the ones upgrading from 150cc bikes) could use the riding modes to help tame the bike and keep learning for years as there's a lot of performance still left in the tank. The greedy mentality of bikers and Shumi's "I feel bad for the 250 against the 390" opinion only adds more fuel to the fire. Only if people could be convinced to save up and wait for longer...

I own a 2021 duke250, and completely agree with the linear delivery for a guy that rode the mini pulsar for 10yrs, even d250 is scary, but it does amazing in city rides where I happily tractor on higher gears at lower speed, it is happy above 3500rpm at any gear, and on highways easy 6500rpm shows 80-90kmph.. I do plan to take it to track someday and see how it feels.. Only 1 question - what is the top speed of gen2, I did manage about 142kmph but I am 85kgs and feel a lighter ride can push it to 150 and how different is it in gen3?

This is offtopic, i am asking this bcz you are an experience rider, I own ktm 390 adv 2020 model, issue with my ktm is that its handlebar is appears to be slightly right turned i have changed the lower T and also the front axle, After changing axle (it was bent a bit, which i noticed and mechanic at bajaj was not able to detect that.) it corrected a bit but still i can sense that its not completely right. What could be the issue ? Yes i take my bike for offroading i like to saddle offroad.

I experienced one of my longest rides in Meghalaya on a Duke 250, and absolutely fell in love with it. The one little grouse back then was the LCD unit from the Duke 200 (Orange colored). It feels bizarre that even to this day Bajaj and KTN take the call to not give the best Duke the best screen. I would happily pay a premium for the color TFT. It is not a feature why anyone would jump from the 250 to the 390 (since they are quite different in character and capability) but it would make a big difference to the rider who is looking at it every single day!

I had the 1st gen Duke 390. Regarding heat radiation, I never cared - it was expected. Plus, Bajaj did a field change, where the radiator fan reversed direction when the bike was below a certain speed. Pretty effective technique.....not sure if the new Dukes use this technique.
